Which stuff doesn't sound the worse for wear? The uncompressed or the compressed version?
The mastering engineer is only going to listen to one. Send him your best mix, whichever you decide sounds better.
You can send the mastering engineer 5 versions if you like. I still think it's silly.
$0.02,
Johann

well, there we go then...I believe the glove has been thrown down...once you start throwing words like "silly" around...well, I guess there will have to be a duel.
I suggest that we meet at an agreed upon time at an agreed upon place with agreed upon weapons.
How's Tuesday for the both of you? I suggest crossbows as the weapon, and I think Regina is about midway between you.

using the word silly is rather stoopid - aw sorry, just some sort of humor
Just bring ONE of your best mix to the person BEFORe the session at a moment when he has time, and ask him to quickly tell you if there is something that could cause problems. for ex, you can be asked to bring some drum on individual tracks (if he has digital equipement). In general, you find a guy that fits your taste and build a relationship with him, then after a few monthes or several session, you buy a finalizer and drop your ex favorite master man from whome you've learned so many tricks and do it at home (yes, very possible, in general).. or something like that...
hey, gimme more coffee, i'm having a hard waking up.
