Yeah, I kind of guessed the limitation was not based on dsp but to simply pose *some* kind of restriction.
But after hearing the SFP version of TD, I was so impressed that I ended up buying the hardware version as well! I use the real one for tracking on the way in. I use the SFP version for mixes.

I don't have the attacker just the TD. I'm thinking of getting the attacker as well now because you can only run 6 instances of the TD (3 stereo or 6 mono).
W00t!?!?!? That's crazy. Do I have to pay it twice to be able to use more?

I'm sorry Spoimala, I'm afraid you can't do that...
you can only run those 6 mono or 3 stereo instances - even if you'd buy another copy

as mentioned it's a restriction by SPL, somehow understandable. The TD needs very few DSP resources and it's an extremely handy tool. Some would put it on every channel just for simplicity...

cheers, Tom

Goddammit, would it harm SPL? I don't understand it all. It's like Porsche said people can only drive at 80 km/h.

bassdude, have you got Attacker already? Does it have this limitation?

Attacker - 4 mono or 2 stereo.

Spoimala

Do a search on the price of the hardware unit (about the same as a Pulsar for a 4 channel unit).
Make a guess, what would happen, if people could run 16 i/o on ADAT with a Pulsar card (or even more staying in software).

you got it

Immanuel, more people would buy creamware cards? Not a bad thing.

And SPL would see, now is the time for software, not hw.

Okay, finally got my copy yesterday. Sounds promising

Anyone used it with attacker already? Is it possible? I'm irritated by the limitation of channels I can use this baby on

Yes, you can use both up to their individual maximum amount.

actually I don't find TD as transparent as peoples said .
I use it but with subtle tweaking . but most of the time i remove it .
but if you want special obvious effect then it can do very weird thing .
