I agree, their site was confusing for me. But it was their Pro One that led me to using CW. Plus they were very friendly on the phone so they dont deserve to be called these names.

If they can't license you a copy because of legal reasons, what would you like them to do?

If they don't really know how long the legal process will take, what would you like them to say?

Interloper, all people want is an answer from Wine Country. So far all we have is speculation. After all, the SFP synths are featured on the Wine Country homepage for sale ! They could clarify the situation in a couple of sentences and end the damaging chatter.

Imagine they were shopkeepers: They have a shop with a big ad for products in the window, people are lining up outside to buy, tapping on the window waving at the people inside, showing credit cards and cash....

... but inside the shopkeeper just sits at his desk, shaking his head, and refusing to say anything.

Why ? Perhaps the door is stuck, the products have been damaged, the shopkeeper is sick, the cat ate the stock. All that shopkeeper needs to do is hang a little sign outside the window.

It's a strange way to run a business.

I was managing "a night" at a club for a short time. It was a nightmare - especially because the club owner kept changing the deal. I backed out very fast...

Spirit, what was WC forwarding your own post to you supposed to do???

Did they add any kind words to it?

It's not as if I could see you say anything apart from voice us your point of view or past experience even!! I mean if it was your choice of words that caused affence, how?, ...erm, I could not see anything blatantly rude, i.e. swearing, etc.

I dunno. Maybe they are little sensitive.

Yes, it's odd. I suppose they were just showing that they were reading the thread and didn't like what I posted. It hindsight perhaps it was a little harsh.

So I then wrote a very nice email to them suggesting very mildly that it might generate enormous goodwill to simply let people know what's going on since people were waiting to buy their products.

But nothing. Pity.

Situation is simple: currently CWA and Wine Country have no license agreement on the name. Therefore, CWA can not sell the ProOne because of the name rights. Also, Wine Country can not sell the ProOne because the actual technology and development is CWA's.

So for the time being, we will soon re-release our plugin under the name ProTone. There may or may not be a new agreement between Wine Country and CWA in the future.

BTW I have a much better opinion of Wine Country than what I read in this thread and I don't think such comments are in any way correct or appropriate.

CW Frank -

Please, please, PLEASE buy, license or release the Prophet version! Work with Wine Country on this! There are many users including myself that want to buy this synth or an improved version of it!

Good to hear that the Pro One could make a return once things are sorted out.

It WOULD be a big shame to lose out on the Prophet though I don't expect that to happen.

I hope others wishes come true.

We can't name the Prophet "Prophet" but we should see it in a couple of weeks.

Cheers, Frank
