DevOcean 1.1 is OUT NOW!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v37zybeqjjo

Grab it here: https://oceanswift.net/product/devocean/

DevOcean Modular 1.1 is here, and the headline is the Capsule Manager. Any patch you build can now be given a face of your own design, compiled into a single self-contained .osmodule file, and shared. The person who loads it drops it in a folder and plays an instrument, with no idea how many modules are inside. Alongside it, the new Radio Script module opens a whole scripting paradigm for radio: raw I/Q from an RTL-SDR dongle, a full SDR toolkit, and your own demodulator written in Lua. Add nine new modules, a user-data bundle system with lossless compression, and dozens of workflow improvements throughout.

Along with the technical features, DevOcean now comes with a number of such skinned modules within the app, as well as a growing collection of free and commercial module addons - take a look! https://oceanswift.net/product-category ... r/modules/

Key new 1.1 features:
  • Compile any capsule into a self-contained .osmodule file
  • Capsule Manager for designing module faces: controls, displays, artwork, panels, text, fonts
  • Capsule snapshots, locking, and clean parameter exposure for automation
  • Drag and drop compiled modules onto the canvas
  • Radio Script module with a full SDR toolkit and its own manual
  • RTL-SDR Radio I/Q outlets at engine rate
  • Assorted collection of new modules
  • Export and import your whole library as one bundle, with lossless compression
  • Snapshot dropdowns on module headers
  • Patch Tree collapse/expand, and more quality of life tweaks
  • Bug fixes and performance wins

So Mac ARM = M series Apple silicon right ? The gui is not as cool as scope modular 4 but I’m sure it works good. Like I can’t use Scope M4 on Mac Studio but I can this one.

The point is, the base system underneath is to remain clean and scientific and without visual bloat.

Above that, the system allows for skinning modules, and the results are as beautiful as you can make them.

Here are a few:

See this one:
https://oceanswift.net/product/tyrian-tine-devocean/

Or the radio:

The skinned instrument modules are just the start, and an early showcase of the planned content universe.

With all my love to the past, I don't really think you can compare something that was great 15 years ago, to something fresh, released now, in full development swing, without the limitations of legacy systems.

DevOcean Modular 1.2 is here, and it is the biggest wave of new modules yet thirty-five of them. The headline is a complete MIDI effects section: Chord Generator, Scale Enforcer, Strummer, Random Notes, MIDI Delay, Velocity Processor and Humanizer. They sit between what you play and what your patch hears, and they change what gets played rather than how it sounds.

Grab it here: https://oceanswift.net/product/devocean/

Alongside them, the big multimode modules have been unbundled - Compressor and Limiter, Bracket EQ, RBJ Multimode Filter, the whole Display family, and the AD / AHD / ADSR envelopes now also exist as focused single-purpose modules. One job each, far fewer controls to wire, and much less to expose when you skin a capsule.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPBB5_K0BoE

The Capsule Manager has grown up too. Switches and buttons take sprites and fonts, labels can act as hyperlinks, and inputs and outputs are now guaranteed to sit above whatever artwork you put behind them - with your own color and font on their labels. The XY Controller and the waveform and wavetable views can be placed on a face, the views optionally as drop targets so a player can load their own samples onto your instrument. And tooltips can pass straight through from the module underneath, instead of being typed twice.

Under all of it, this release is faster: quicker undo, a lighter browser, and leaner polling across the canvas, the script modules and the Tuning Table. Plus new tutorials for Capsule Skinning and MIDI Effects, more factory oceans, and hundreds of new module snapshots.

Key DevOcean Modular NEW 1.2 features:
  • A complete MIDI effects section: Chord Generator, Scale Enforcer, Strummer, Random Notes, MIDI Delay, Velocity Processor, Humanizer
  • Tape Delay and Shimmer Delay, advanced supersets of their multimode counterparts
  • Compressor, Limiter, Bracket EQ and RBJ Multimode Filter as standalone modules
  • The Display family split out: Waveform, Wavetable, Envelope, Radio, Modulation
  • Six Mod envelopes with modulation inlets, plus standalone AD, AHD and VCA variants
  • Random LFO+, Smooth LFO+, and Multi LFO Slow reaching down to 0.001 Hz
  • New tutorials: Capsule Skinning, and MIDI Effects in multiple languages
  • New factory oceans, a Noise Textures osmodule, and 260 more module snapshots
  • Faster undo, browser, canvas and scripting throughout
  • Bug fixes and quality of life tweaks
  • User and Factory modules now share a content folder, for osmodules with large sample sets
Capsule Manager:
  • sprites and fonts on switches and buttons, hyperlink labels, IO label colour and font
  • Expose the XY Controller and the waveform and wavetable views, with optional drag-and-drop sample loading
  • Tooltips can pass through from the underlying module instead of being retyped
