Tiny 2 channel mixer?

Tiny 2 channel mixer?

Post by asktoby »

Any recommendations for a 2 channel stereo mixer?

I want a really small super basic mixer.

The "micro mixer" is still 4 channels input.
If I make one in Modular it'll have four outputs.

All I want is two stereo inputs and one stereo output.

(Why small? I'm trying to keep my routing window tidy and save MIPS)

Funny. I was just browsing the small modular mixers today, but I didn't find what I needed: A tiny modular stereo output mixer with an input for each channel's "CV" controlled balance/pan. I.e. I don't need a pot for balance/pan control but the option to modulate/automate it.

Maybe what you're looking for is something like the St Mix 2: http://cwmodular.org/mixgain-mix.html ?

I managed to do a workaround, covering my needs with a couple of VCAs, a CV controlling VCA-left and an offset inverted copy of that CV controlling VCA-right, but if you or anyone else could build and share a tiny stereo output mixer with balance/pan modulation, I would be grateful.

Try with frequency modulators. These apply strong modulation to the signals. I think they are named pitch modulators in the modular

Thanks. I did a search on modulators and found the panMod here http://cwmodular.org/mix-modulator.html.
This seems to cover my panning modulation needs. I will try to use it in my patch tomorrow.

yes the panmod is the one.

if you use the pitch modulator i suggested leave headroom with an attenuator and see you signal on an oscilloscope. It does good amplitude modulation

Here are two things you may want to look at:

Wavelength Mixmaster should be small enough that if it loads earlier in your project it won't overlap DSPs it's in "Wavelength_Synths-BestOfRepack-072520.rar" (attached to this post) under \Wavelength Synthesizers Best of Repack 250720\Wavelenght SC7 must be install in Mixer folder\Mixer Wavelenght\ note there are also two older versions of SpaceF's Vectopr mixer in that same subfolder.

A simple download is "Wavelength Free Bundle Part 4.zip" which also has the same exact version of the Wavelength Mixer (also attached to this post).

I would defer to SpaceF to go beyond what is in these zipfiles at this point, his mixers are quite capable.

Thanks Valis. The panMod was exactly what I needed, but I'll check the Wavelength stuff out later. I haven't used my Spacef Modular Mixers in quite a while, but I may have a look there too.
