I use separate machines for both my PCI and Xite systems. So much easier and they work like outboard in terms of workflow.
I own bidule and spent some time determining what the last version of it was that won’t BSOD scope and still runs in 64bit mode to run plugins should I desire that too. Let me know if that interests you.
Xite setup - same computer as ScopePCI cards or not?

just to prevent wrong conclusions:astroman wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:02 pm All 64bit plugins (there are some nice ones indeed) are on MacMini M1 connected via a Motu 828 MK2 USB (Adat).
I picked that Motu because it was the most affordable solution and didn‘t require various FW/TB Adapters.
It only works in MacOS Monterey, if security level is reduced permanently.
(I assumed only the install needed extended rights, but as soon as the system is set back to it‘s regular mode, it moves the respective driver (kext) into a „disabled“ folder and the Motu isn‘t seen any more)

Lots of interesting options!
I'd never heard of Bidule - reading up about it now.
The Xite has finally just been shipped from Germany after a customs delay, so I should get it in a few days.

Bidule is the host for all those „modern“ plugins on my MacMini.
They also do insanely precise implementations of vintage digital units, f.e their OPS7 has fully replaced my TX7.
(impossible for me to tell the difference between hard- and software)
Bidule looks a bit like Scope, with 1 huge difference:
it does auto-mix on inputs if you connect multiple sources to the same destination.

That's what I have in mind as well. Maybe I'll get an RME Digiface USB for that. Cute little thing with 4 ADAT I/Os.astroman wrote: Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:02 pm I also run Scope on Win7/32 together with SAWStudio.

Here is my post on what version of Bidule to use in order to not crash the Scope drivers I think 0.9766 works too, as that's the only one I seem to have archived now for that branch. It's the last version to not have portaudio compiled directly in, and instead uses an older version linked as an external DLL hence the driver query not causing the out of memory access error for the Xite/Scope PCI drivers.valis wrote: Tue Jan 07, 2025 5:42 am I use separate machines for both my PCI and Xite systems. The downside here is that their CURRENT build is also always a time-limited demo, which means you can't try out the current version (it has a 3 month expiry from release date, always). I do have that specific version archived if you need it, but you will have to purchase a key from the Plogue website to use it.
Note that VCV Rack v1 but not v2 works the same way.
