I upgraded my computer from Windows 7 to 10.
Now I dont get any sound because Scope/startup project isnt loaded, the speaker icon in the taskbar is crossed out.
Windows audio assistent says that the audio service is not responding.
Otherwise everything looks normal, device manager, scope is set as default device, etc.
And when I start the scope software manually and also stop and restart the audio service, I get sound and it works.
But next reboot, same problem.
I tried to overwrote the startup project, reinstalled scope, without success.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
PS: it is scope 7, registry entry in run exists, it seems windows could'nt load scope.exe -s as background process.
scope doesnt startup after windows 10 upgrade
Re: scope doesnt startup after windows 10 upgrade
I still didn't figure out about running Scope 7 at startup (Win10), but since my main audio computer is just for producing music, loading fast into win, I run this manually.
I have put scope.exe on many locations , mentioned on net, but nothing.
Here with my , I called it, "media computer", for internet, youtube, listening music ...etc. I have Scope 5.1 with Win11 and starts just fine.

IIRC, this is a well known bug since Scope 7 ... (possibly 5.1).novalis wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:12 am I upgraded my computer from Windows 7 to 10.

But there´s no urgend need to do so and there are other more important bugs.
Starting SCOPE from desktop icon does it for me.

Re: scope doesnt startup after windows 10 upgrade
t's not a bug. windows 10 doesn't work that way, as Scope must run in administrator mode and that cannot be auto strarted(it requires your acknowledgement).

Re: scope doesnt startup after windows 10 upgrade
Maybe win10 can do it like win11:
So go to startup app's, and add a new task. Browse to the scope executable, and check the checkbox for starting with administrator rights.
Done.

Yes, but you do that deliberately and (hopefully) with consideration.
An installer isn‘t allowed such „tricks“ today (I suppose...)

The request to confirm the start of a program in W10/W11 is based in UAC.
Just set UAC to less safety and your programs will start without asking.
I switched this off for machines, where no third person could add new software.

Re: scope doesnt startup after windows 10 upgrade
just remember that win10 and 11 MUST be connected to the internet at some point to work properly.

Re: scope doesnt startup after windows 10 upgrade
W10 needs internet only after installation to get its patches. Once working all internet for windows is cut off in some companies.
The principle behind is "never change a running system". As W10 updates even removed 3rd party software automatically, some people started to think different about beeing online all the time. (e.g. the removal of flash by windows-update grounded some trains in Japan, as their HMI was flash-based.)
Nevertheless there might be other software which insists on internet connection for licensing. This can be handled with firewall rules.
This might sound paranoid but some software tries to transmit part of your work to their home base to "evaluate the user experience" or train some AI. Some comoanies (and sound studios ?) probably don't like to have someone unknown to watch your work or computer data. ( remember that vaccum cleaner robot company, whos guys watched the videos of other people sitting on the toilet, while the robot came in
