TightnWide

Post by mausmuso »

I released a version of this device before, but this is a complete redesign and adds a couple of new elements.
I have included 3 versions with only skins being the difference between them all.
They all share the same presets.
Features:
- 2 bands (Bass and Stereo) with widths controlled by the xover frequency;
- Full/Stereo/Bass switches are there to help with setup;
- Stereo section 'Ambience' circuitry is based on the Bob Katz's K-System;
- Mid Side is separate from the ambience circuitry and applies to the full bandwidth (bass and stereo bands);
- Bass section can be mono'ed either as 'Hard Mono' or by minimising the pan control (click on the control and move up or down to set the bass pan width);
- Notch filter can be linked to the xover frequency to improve separation (Notch can of course be use separate to the xover);
- 1 band parametric can be used across the full frequency range;
- There are two compressors, a Bass Compressor and an output Compressor;
- The output pan control is there to correct any panning issues caused by the various bass and ambience settings.
Hope you find this useful.
regards

you could load a poti, and load the skins as an animation (attributes = bottom, not selectable ) then connect another poti that will control which skin is displayed (val to val connection) with both animations having min val = 0 and max val = 2 , steps = 3 or -1, so you can get all your skins inside a signle device (make sure both potis have same parameters before moving/connecting them, or it may crash, so save before connecting them as crashes are probable). i suggest that your skin-poti should only includes the colored part, not the side panels (it''s easier to move around). Advantage = you manage only 1 device instead of 3.
keep the trick ultra-secret please :-D
Sorry I haven't had the time to download and try yet :-)

Thanks Mehdi
I have observed that you do this on some of your devices, but did not know how.
I will have a play with this technique
Really appreciate your advice
