Scope PCI Asio

Post by MrV »

Hi folks ,
Wondering if anyone might have some clues about this .

I'm running my main studio system on Win10 i7 32Gb ram Sonic-Core v5.1 with 3 x Scope Pro cards
( I installed S-C for this from the v5.1 64bit zip and it's been running fine , although it lists as Scope 32 bit in Task Manager ?? )

I have Cubase 7.5 and Cubase 10.0.6 installed and all have been working perfectly for a year or two .
Until today
When I uninstalled Cubase10 by mistake ...so I re-installed it.
Now ...when I load Sonic Core and then Cubase 7.5 everything is fine , its working w SCOPE PCI.
But now when I load Cubase 10 and select ASIO SCOPE PCI I get "Error: The Scope Application is not running or Asio Source and Asio Dest are not included ..."
I've tried many times , rebooting .whatever ...Cubase 10 cannot find the Scope Asio but Cubase7.5 does .
Maybe this is simply a Cubase issue ?
Has anyone seen anything like this ?

Regards , Michael

1. Backup everything.
2. Blow away C: drive (reformat)
3. Reinstall Windows 10, Scope and Cubase 10. If it doesnt work, start again from point 1. but install Cubase 7.5 not Cubase 10
4. When system working, make System backup Restore point.
5. Make a system restore point everytime you install something new

Dual boot can help the above process. So you can restore the odd missing content from the old partition to the new.

Good luck !

Just right click Cubase and set compatibility option to Windows8. When you reinstalled Cubase it likely removed this setting. Reinstalling Windows is probably unnecessary.

Hey thanks Vallis + Dante , yes spot on about Compatibility to Win8 .
That's fixed it now , as well as for StudioOne5 , same issue .

Actually that's something you mentioned to me already Gary , a year or two ago , but I forgot ...

Cheers , Michael :)

Scope 7 does indeed exist, though I presume eventually Win11 & Cubase 12 will require yet another tweak and we'll await Scope X9 with bated breath so that we don't have to edit a shortcut. But I digress...
