stupid question ...

Post by Bud Weiser »

Well, when changing PCIe slots for XITE PCIe card,- do I have to install SCOPE v7 all new every time?
Up to now I did w/ this build, but that was at the beginning.
Meanwhile I have a lot more installed and if possible, I´d like to avoid new SCOPE installation.

:)

I never did this when changing slots.
All you have to do is to care for the right scope-driver.
( I have 5.1 and 7, so I need to check it chooses the right one.)

O.k, thank you !
Here it´s all SCOPE v7 x64 only.
No other ASIO drivers installed, no previous SCOPE version.

I´ve found out, on AsRock Intel Z97, only the 1st two PCIe 3.0 x16 have direct connectivity to CPU.
All the other, PCIe x1 and the 3rd PCIe x16 are 2.0 and connect via chipset to CPU.
I use iGPU,- but also a Ultra M.2 NVMe x4,- so the 1st PCIe x16 might not be the best option.
But the 2nd one might be the fastest I can get and might improve sharing too.
We´ll see ...

:)
