Back in the Groove

Post by the_mind_as_music »

Hi Everyone, after an enforced break from Modular I'm back!

Mostly forgot what I knew, so I thought I would start by using a patch by the legendary Roland Kuit.
Also, the old Celmo Ganja dub delay is in there as well.

Its a modification of one of his sample and hold experiments, you can give it a listen here on Instagram:

Sounds cool. Careful with those tape delay modules. I have a love/hate relationship with them :D

yayajohn,

thanks for the comment!

Not sure what you mean about the Tape Delays, do they crash the system!
(I'm sure I didn't get the best out of it in that patch).

Well on Xite, 64 bit they are unstable. (can't remember if this was true on PCI side) The only way I could really use them was to save the patch without them and then load them manually each time I loaded the patch. There were several versions of the module being passed around but I don't think any really worked reliably. Love the sound of them though esp when the pitch is modulated.
When dNa came out with Optimus I kind of stopped using them on my patches. Loading effects into the main project window seems to work best for spreading the resources around. With Sharc's BCM shells you can route your audio in and out as much as you want.
I like what you do with the modular.
Thanks for sharing your work.
