side-chaining is mostly something used on a compressor. the idea is to have another signal control the action of an effect other than the signal being affected.

it's a very useful technique, but not for very many different situations. it's something that gets used in a limited fashion. it's not something that is a basic skill(even though it's stupidly easy, just assign the signal of choice to the side-chain input).

something like this ?
it's a simple project for testing.
Prisma synth - bass sound (mono) to ducker and inside ducker out from Kick Me (out GraphL).

What a great idea for ducking.
Can’t wait to try that my SE-02s

Been using hardware ducking on the TC Fireworx and it’s great on vocals.
Should be a good effect for stripping away frequencies.
