Anyone using one? It seems that all my previous problems with lost controller codes is due to the Miditerminal 4140 interface, so I'm thinking of getting a Midisport 4x4 instead.

Before I get one, I just want to make sure it's working fine.

I have a 2x2, and it's working very well. My friend has a 8x8 and he swear by it. The 8x8 is also a midi patchbay (it allow different routing like in sfp).

I think they're pretty good for the price, but i never tried any other interface, so maybe others are even better? Who knows?

I'm using a midiman 4x4 midisport interface, and it's working just great!!, I have no problems at all, it's 100% reliable and self powered. If you have a bigger budget I would recomend the 8x8 because the routing and the SMPTE, but if that's not what you need you can trust the 4x4.

Thanks guys... what OS do you use? I'm using Windows XP Pro. You think that combination will work?

Cheers,

I have the Midisport 8 - works great with XP - but I'm selling it - $230 on ebay right now - might be less than the 4 X 4 new!

Only for the record Algorythm, but the 4x4 new is less than $150, and the 8x8 new is $299, so your offer is good.

I have the 4x4. In fact, I was thinking of switching it for the miditerminal becuase I was having problems with the USB interface. With it installed, I couldnt load my projects in SFP correctly. This was with Windows XP installed in Standard PC mode. Now that I have switched to normal (apci) mode it works ok. Make sure you get the latest drivers though.
To be or not to be. What was the question?

Nono... you don't want to go for the Miditerminal Interface. Don't even think about it. That piece of hardware is just crap.

I went to my local shop and bought a Midisport 4x4 today, and now everything that weren't working... works! All the problems with lost controller codes from my synthesizers are gone. I haven't used extensivly with SPF yet, but this far I haven't run into any problems.

Cheers,

Carl.

I had problems with Pulsar midi out so I had to buy a Midisport 2x2. I only use the midi connections for J-station and Alesis SR-16. At first I was worried about the USB thing but I haven't had any timing problems so it must be working well.
