Recently really trimmed down the OS and all applications. Kontakt 5
use nothing but NCW samples now, and purged Instruments as well.
I can load everything I need in RAM if I wanted.
This allows me realtime Horn Section Swells using the exp Pedal and
SpaceF Lag on CC2x@ or just a BCF Fader or Mod Wheel, pretty
incredible shit IMHO.
I uninstalled Scope after copying the massive collection of stuff I have.
Then I reinstalled Scope. Then uninstalled the Microsoft Redistributable
instead of repairing it.
Then I uninstalled Scope again, and this time repaired the Redistributable.
Then I went into every single folder and eliminated every effect, synth and
entire folders I don't use. I then emptied out the Registry of every
instrument and effect I wasn't using.
Then Customized my folders, and since Modular is the shit for me, I made
sure every possible module was available, even have a Roland Kuit folder in
anticipation of some neat shit from him.
But I barely have any effects now, and even the synth folder only has the
B2003.
My project starts in 14 seconds and shuts down in 1 second.
The best part is I have never seen my directories and pathways work like
this or even use these windows. I don;t need to save modular twice now,
projects are saved to the exact folder, as are presets, modules, devices,
everything.
I wish someone could verify this for me, but it's a little bit of work.
If someone does though please let me know. I am still stumped about the
workflow now that the folders are saved correctly and are so small and
cool looking.

Re: Lean Machine
I edited the directories on folder level, and made new devisions, but I did not take away what I don't use.
Life playing is a different thing tho, it looks like it's a great setup.

Man, your XITE has Powered Cabinets? A whole folder of them!?!
I modify my folders, for both devices and modular. I also don't remove them, but they load fast now that I have windows and scope sitting on my mSATA SSD. Fast being a few seconds, also.

It keeps the B2003 audio in from getting an error message.ShogunSpy wrote:What's the feedback device?
This gives me the ability to use the Doppler/Leslie of the B2003, or go to the Moog Ring Modulator out to the Motion Sound Pro 3.
Really happy with the quality of hardware effects, DSP effects, DSP synths, Ananlog hardware synths, powered Mackie DLM 8s and the Motion Sound Rotary Cabinet.
It's not as good as a real B3 and 147 Leslie but it sounds better then the rest the crap I have heard.
Using the Moog 12 Stage Phaser on the Leslie brings back that great B3 sound on Santanas Caravanasierra.
Just beautiful...
Re: Lean Machine
I just did this with Juniors Scope Cards and the SSD really zips things along too.
Just make sure to copy everything you own seperately, but only keep what you'll need for recording or gigging.
Serious Zipp-a-dee-do-da
But is anyone seeing the new windows for saving devices and projects...?
They are truly a blessing after years of being ld to presets when saving projects, etc.
