so whats the main difference?
is it just one is hardware and one is software?
do they sound the same and have the same functions?

Re: solaris vs solaris
i think the hardware version is many times more awesome than the awesome software version just from the few times i've heard the hardware. i'll leave the detailed confirmation/rejection of that theory to Jimmy or someone else who actually owns one.
the hardware has a lot of work in it. i'd call it jaw dropping, definitely a legendary quality synth.

Re: solaris vs solaris
cheers for the reply gary.
i assume the hardware is more awesome as it runs at 24bit 96 plus actually being housed in hardware so hands on.
but when it comes to features and what they do i wonder how different they are.
the asb's where exact replicas of the scope plug ins housed in hardware. wonder if this is the same with solaris.

Yep, but some "module" weren't included in the solaris plug-in and ARE included in the Solaris Synth.
Just for example the MINIMAX filter is available in the Solaris Hardware and not in its plug-in ancestor...

Re: solaris vs solaris
yes, the Hardware version is much more than the software version.
Re: solaris vs solaris
There's too many more Filters and Oscillators to mention.
Solaris in hardware is tha Apex of synthesis, in the studio and on the stage.
It punishes it's competitors, and softsynth owners would die to have a plug in that sounded and acted in realtime like Solaris does.
I noticed the Black ones sound better than the White Ones do though, there's more low end and a much ballsier sound, so I am encouraging everyone to get the WHite ones.

Well of course the colour thing is rubish. But i must say i like the look of the white one best.
Thanks for making it clear. Good they/John has done this.
Anyhows i'm getting the software plug in soon.
The Hardware version i can only dream about for the moment.
