I just did the same as I can no longer use these weak Slate drums.
Abbey Drums Modern drums cost me 119 USD and I am not impressed.
Larry just knows how to capture and record drums. I have heard so many drums and their 50 different mic positions, but the bottom line is, I dont need mic positions on something that hardly captures a real kit to begin with.
Instead of bathing the sound w/ effects and useless crap, I want just a dry kit that sounds like somebody actually struck the drum instead of this virtual crap.
What he has done is to make it as easy as possible to lay down tracks using Velocity press rolls and several high hat variations instead of the same old lame layouts with kits bathed in grotesque effects.
Below is an example of the kit I like but I destroyed the recording by quantizing the parts.
But the meat of the sound w/o all of the gooeey gunk smothering it.

Good job with that mix, Jimmy; really impressive.
Probably a dedicated thread should be opened... I like the kit #9 of Power kits vol.2. In the demo it doesn't sound dry though...

Carbon credits no longer being traded?
The European Commission (EC) suspended trading in carbon credits on Wednesday after someone siphoned off around $38 million

Damn it.
It was just starting to get to be fun.
I especially wanted to hear how more taxes would keep the Moon from getting further away from Earth every orbit, and how we could stop the axis from shifting 40 feet every year.
I think if I send a massage therapist with GPS and a piecred ear mic/cam, I could get Al Gore worked up enough to spill the beans, then blackmail him for some of the Billions he shook down private industry for while holding their Global Warming rallies in those nasty blizzards.....
At the end of the day, those who want to breastfeed off of Uncle Sam, want such programs, since it benefits them.
The working men and women in this hemisphere just want these beggars to stop stealing, lying and taxing us to fix their mistakes.
You can't blame the elite for trying this scam though, it was a brilliant way to shake down private industry. The Feds even used our taxpayer dollars to try and decieve us with.
Well, the other nations that have screwed their citizens should be commended.
They decieved millions the proper way.
Our leaders had the perfect scam and couldn't pull it off.
Our leaders couldn't find a hooker in a whore house..............But they really do care about us.

Now the States are adopting similar controls at the state level.valis wrote:Carbon credits no longer being traded?

They've already started it here in California where even Intel is considering leaving the state (it's a mere shadow of it's former self anyways).

Yeah, once there was a priest, he had his church on a small mountain when the tidal waves came and the water climbed slowly up to his neck.
He starts to pray, oh I know god will come and help me.
A fishing boat came and the fisherman shouted, come over!
No, god will come and rescues me. So three boats passed by.
The priest drowned and god appears to him.
Why haven't you rescued me of drowning, the priest asked.
Well, I have sent you three boats...

Re: NOAA: last decade was warmest, global warming "undeniabl
If you're over 40 like many of us then why worry ? Just enjoy Scope for the next 20-30 years and if we die at 60 - 80 thats a fair innings.

ok, you better move to higher ground tomorrow, then. (classic joke btw!ChrisWerner wrote:Yeah, once there was a priest, he had his church on a small mountain when the tidal waves came and the water climbed slowly up to his neck.

i can guaran-freaking-tee you that none of the "solutions" to "climate change" will help.
you only have a very short while(200 years or so) to move, "if things continue as they are"....
panic everyone! panic!
i'll remind you that it was much hotter during the middle ages(an undisputed FACT. where were the suvs?), and greenland was quite melted...
golly, this is fun to start up again.

yeah, the youngsters never had any promises.dante wrote:If you're over 40 like many of us then why worry ? Just enjoy Scope for the next 20-30 years and if we die at 60 - 80 thats a fair innings.

THEY can move to higher ground.

I think higher taxes for Governments will solve this quickly.
They are so efficient when it comes to spending money and watching out for the little people.
I think some live avant garde Piano music over the Grateful Deads PA by Braincell will quickly re freeze any melting Ice.

Good, I'll reach the 40 on sept. and already moved up to 675 meters. The next river is aprox. 29 km away. But I don't care I can buy a fishing boat then.garyb wrote:yeah, the youngsters never had any promises.dante wrote:If you're over 40 like many of us then why worry ? always a solution....

When California goes under my land will be worth a fortune.
The Ocean will be smack up against the Sierras, then Lake Tahoe, then East Fork Walker River and Topaz.
I can fish for Tuna and dive for Albacore on the weekends, and then have Trout, Elk, Chucker and Pheasant.
Even Yosemite will rejoice as it looks over the Pacific.....
May as well look at the bright side.
Those who hate guns and think the " authorities " are the all knowing caretakers of humanity will probably change their mind about us southern racists after I share my shelter, food and provide protection for them as they head east in search of their absentee landlords.....

Then you're naive. Maybe from outside the UK they seem to be some bastion of impartiality - they are not. During the Blair years they were his puppet. Look at their stance on showing an ad for humanitarian aid for Gaza in 2009. Even their own staff demonstrated against the ban on the ad. The only other channel that refused to show it? Murdoch's Sky.braincell wrote: I trust the BBC!
