16U Main Battle Tank

Post by dawman »

I have condensed from a 28U down to a 16U thanks to the XITE-1.
Both sides are packed, and this is a fairly mobile solution.
When I can find a laptop powerful enough for 64bit streaming, I will downsize to the exact same rig in a 4U design.
For now this will work fine.
The Barbetta's are small and perfect. The Rotary Cabinet sits on top of the rack.
The entire rig takes 5 minutes to prepare for battle.

And Yes, This Dog Will Hunt.

They are cool, but I'll be getting a laptop early next year anyway.
Besides, everyone always treats me like I am some genius because of the viewable LCD and I slam the 1U QWERTY shut with such class... :D
Waittail Cocktresses always say stupid stuff like........." Wow, you must be a computer genius or something "......... ..........little do they know.
For not having the B3, ARP String, Rhodes, Clavinet, TX816, CS80, CP88, Oberheims and the Moog Lab Series Amp, it sure sounds like I still do. This was 12 years in the making.

I Like It Lots. SCore has once again made me King of all I survey....

I have been watching the i7's for some time.
I won't use RAID, and will use external eSATA when the time comes.
An O.S. + Apps. can be an SSD as I have seen that work for a while now.
It doesn't get very hot since it isn't used for streaming.
I will get a 17" LCD and be happy.
IMHO, I will use this next cheap upgrade for a year at least before I buy a laptop.
I have learned from my tight fisted frugal Brotha's here, that waiting, as hard as it is, is the wise thing to do.

You really need to stay for a week in Vegas, then 4 days in Tahoe during Labor Day weekend.
Once you experience that, you can never live in a state that has high taxes and more men than women.
Even at the age of 53, I still have steam rising from my britches when I walk the pools in the summertime.
It's hard to imagine until you live it.
Lake Tahoe on Labor Day and Vegas in the summer..................Only the beaches of Rio have the slightest chance of a comparison.
You should just take a walk through Hooters Casino on a weeknight...........if your balls don't start smokin' something ain't right.

San Diego beaches ain't bad, but they're not like Rio (or Hawaii, or....).
<not enough rich dudes to attract them to San Diego>.

Gee, I guess there are no women Scopers on this forum?
No offenses taken?

Where's the REAL Xitement?

Greg

p.s. also planning Win7/i7 (everything seven) laptop purchase towards fall for big VSTs and of course, Xite.

Right there w/ ya on Win7 i7,
at least we have confirmation of an install for Win7 32! (4U rack mount for me)
Just waiting for the XITE to arrive & the i7 prices to start dropping (and it seems they are now)
The 920 is affordable, but the 950 & 965 extreme are still pretty insanly priced...
I hoping by fall of this year

Enjoy your well deserved vacation Greg!
