Last try!
I removed all cards - restarted. Then i installed the main card many times, but it always appear on IRQ 16 and the option to change that is greyed out.

Still got crash after just some minutes, so this is probably going to end
....with a new MB - I found the intel DP35DP for kr 803 incl vat in Norway - almost the same price as you mentioned garyb (+ 25% vat of course - our beloved)

I think the only "saver" now is to find a way to change IRQ
I guess there is no such cutoff???? :o

edit - active sensing turned off (was indeed on) - so there is still a tiny tiny tiny.............hope

no, it looks like pci-e video and that slot are hardwired.

you will still need to check for shared irqs and then disable some usb controllers(no big deal)...

active sensing will certainly make lockups...

a sad moment - filtering out the active sensing was pure joy for only 2 minutes :-)
That means - i will order a new MB
and in the meantime i can use Audition 1.5

It looks like the 2 main datashops in Trondheim does not have Intel MB.
So it might be postorder - by i will do some more research.

Good wibes to all so far!

I think so garyb, no active sensing was monitored.
Only action monitored was when i moved a slider - nothing else

is there any way to connect your keyboard and/or midi-controller directly to the scope-card via midi. as far as i understood they are connected via usb and scope cards are said not to like that too much. maybe it´s worth a try. have you disabled to microsoft bla bla high definition audio device yet?

Both - Its not enough with an usb cable - no signals, so i think USB is for drivers and power, while it transfere the midi signals through midicabel.
And yes i have tried with no midi at all.
I think the problem is PCI-E and PCI are hardwired together.

Realteak supersoundcard disabled :D

you mean you have completely disconnected the usb-midi-controllers from the pc and the freezing continues?
maybe you can contact someone who is running the p5k without any problems and watch what´s different. use the search function in this forum.
