noob question

Post by Mike Goodwin »

How do you send to the buses in the 2448 mixer? I read over the manual in a hurry but did not see how to send to them. I know how to add fx to the returns, how to find the mix matrix page and so on but no luck on how to send.

Any tips would be great.

if you look at the master panel, for each channel selected there are a pair of cutouts in the middle, beneath the meters, labeled "record bus". click on the number(or the word "off") and drag. you can also assign busses on the bus page(lower left of the main panel). this is in the manual in the section showing the controls for the stm2448 mixer..

No, you're talking about aux sends, right? They're different from recording buses...

Select a mixer channel and make sure the channel strip area is visible (if it isn't, open it with the master panel). You'll see, right above the EQ and compressor, a row of knobs and buttons labeled "AUX." The knobs are the volume control for each aux send, and there are two buttons underneath each knob. The top one selects Pre/Post, the bottom one turns on the aux send.

Unfortunately, the aux sends are all mono...the only stereo send is the monitor mix. I guess hardware mixers typically work that way...
