Exclusiveness of the Vista driver

Post by djsainz »

Hello,

This email is mostly directed to either Ralf of Sonic Core or an official.

The question is about if the Vista driver going to be available to all the scope community regardless the platform version, or is the driver going to be exclusive only to Sonic Core V5 platform?

I just don’t want to go and plunge blindly into buying scope 4.5 with the notion that if I have V4 it won’t run on Vista with official drivers.

Another question, although this we will probably have to wait till further notice, it’s the feature list of V5 platform. Any ideas when we can get one? As I would of have thought that the final product is done and you are mostly testing it. A list may entice me to get the upgrade if it has some good features in it.

Thanks anyways

Hi, i don't think the new driver will work with the old Platform since they mention on the website that the new platform (5) that include vista driver will not run the plugs from china town...

PS: so now it's safe to buy from this company or no? since sonic core is checking legal aspects and consequences....

Regards,
ladiki

That may be more to do with the OS algorythms or protection. They may have a few things changed with modules rather than a direct driver related problem.

Really, if Sonic|Core want to comment on Scope 5 they would have announced it on their website. Speculative threads aren't going to help anyone. Dave why do you feel the sudden urgency to 'plunge' into 4.5? Wait and see what's announced if Vista is so important to you (or get an XP system, Scope4.5 and make lots of music for the next 10 years).

Hi,

I dont feel the urgency at this moment to get 4.5, I was just asking if we going to have to buy it anyway in order to get hold of the actual vista driver. Eventually I will either get the V5 sofware or use XP based system, which ever gives me the benefit in cost effectivness. I would of have loved to see what new features will be in V5, but in fareness we will have to wait until its officially announced on their site.

Cheers

What is the problem with having a linux driver, there is some pretty wicked audio software out there that has been created with lots of love for linux, so why cant I have my wicked sound card offer me what the world has to give me. I paid a fortune for my fist luna and now I have two pulsar's in there as well.

The Product range for recording is fantastic but it could be doing more!

P.S. all that wicked software is free!!!!!! :D

I am deeply convinced that we won't have to wait too much ... Please, Soniccore take your time especially for Xite itself. We all know all softwares have bugs when released (even grandees like Apple and windows) so Scope 5 can come first. As for xite, jsut take one more days as that's hardware  .... Just my 2 cents of course !
