funny thing is that the picture visually gains a lot from the artifacts caused by a camera move during exposure. If it was on a tripod, it wasn't properly fixed 
There are actually twice as much light dots than there were fire-flies, as you can tell by intensity and geometric displacement of the dots. [/blabla]
