Make SFP Load Faster

Post by braincell »

I got tired of loading the SFP, waiting for the default project, then loading my current project, then waiting again. Now I made my default project have no modules. It loads in about 2 seconds! If Creamware was smarter when you start it, there would be a screen which gives you the option to load the last project saved. I don't use a background project because I don't always need audio.

Settings, Projects.

I max out 45 DSP's, so I will save as, during the project, but lower my polyphony by 50% on the synths. This allows my current stage rig to load up pronto, then add the polyphony which is also rapid once the project is called up, and viola. This avoids the optimize window which I totally detest. I can't imagine having to watch that live. Using Emulator II's, and III's, w/ 3 x Oberheim DPX's, all 3.5 " FDD's, was a juggling match live, it worked, but I am so past that nonsense anymore. Imagine having 2 SFP DAW's, just so one could always be playable while the other one loads. Please no more 90's music, or gear.

hubrid, you copycat......

I have no problems with loading ...

after 3 seconds my basic mixer and asio routing is right up there. I never would want SFP to load my last project by default.

I always start a new project.

I do almost the same. My default new project just has an audio in, a midi in, one channel strip and an audio out. Loads very quickly and easy to just slot in a synth and couple of effects and play.

I've also made two shortcuts that load specific projects on my desktop so if I want to load something with all the bells and whistles for more complex ASIO based stuff it's just one click away but why load such monsters at startup?
