ASIO2 flt source 64

Post by djsainz »

Hi,

I was wondering what ASIO2 32 or Flt Software I/O is used for as an advantage compared to ASIO2 24bit. I am using Cubase SX3 as the sequencer.

Thanks

I've been using Scope over 2 years now and I'm still confused about the different drivers. Is there anywhere where there is a comparison of their uses? For example, I believe the flt ones only work with some hosts (mainly Cubase/Nuendo) - is that right?

With Cubase, if you record at 32 bits (float, cubase only uses 32 float) you should use the Asio Flt. drivers, they are made to communicate with 32 bit float recording software.

I f you use Cubase at 24 bits, use 24 bits Asio drivers...it seems pretty straightforward...I don't know how much is the difference, I didn't try all the options, but I would do as the names suggest.

Sounds somewhat air-ier, more crystal clear highs and more wide. very small different for now, but I hope that in a few years it will make the difference, once the digital sources will be upgraded. good for few channels tracks.

I still use the standard 16 bit ASIO drivers and the sound is just fine...

I use Cubase mostly for samples and that stuff
as most of my samping CDs are 16bit / 44,1 khz

So I see no point to run it at a higher bit depth.
