Anna,
I knew a woman would win this contest. It's just not fair.

How about "STALKER"?

Perfect match for SOLARIS... (though it might miss out on the hitorical legacy of the synth, unless it's spelled "StalQWr" or something...)

Could be "UbiQ"!

Even better: "Qbase"

OK, thanks to everyone for the many great suggestions!! And the winner is.....

Well, I don't know yet! I'll have to spend some days "trying out" the finalists in actual text on the surface, to see how things look, etc. Plus there's other issues I'm thinking about logo-wise, etc.

But I really do want to thank everyone for their participation! It was fun to log on every day to see where things were at in this list. You are quite the creative group!!

peace,
john b.

I know this is a stretch, but how about combining the Prophet with a Waldorf Attack to create a synth that prevents the creation of bad music: The Pro-phe-lat-tack (as in prophylactic). Please, overly ripe tomatoes only, thank you.

John always ends his messages with "peace", so he is a peace maker. Also, for the younger ones amongst us, the peacemaker is a pistol, used to bring order, make the peace. This is how I would rate John;s awesome synth, the peacemaker among synths.
