spectral balance controller bug??

i just noticed, using a spectrum analyzer to confirm (voxengo SPAN) that in SBC the first two sliders on the left controls the low bands (0-500Hz) but one for the right channel and one for the left channel, independently
is it a bug or is it a choice?
i didnt read this fact in the manual, and it could bring some problem in mastering, if the two bands are not perfectly aligned.
if it is a choice, a "link" button could be useful...

I'm affraid CW forgot about the SBC. They are aware of the bug since last december.

The first band should work around 60 Hz but it's a copy of the 2nd band (around 160 Hz) and the panning is messed up too for these 2 bands.

Hello Andre, I have installed the new oxe file, but the problem persists.
The first band boosts on the left at 160 Hz and on the right at 50 Hz, viceversa the second band is behaved.

just dwl and installed the new oxe file...

that would be a very strange way of handling an audio signal... moreover, in the manual there is no such explanation of this behaviour

You might need to think of this differently from a standard multi-comp or EQ.

I think this device actually shuffles frequencies left/right. I know Logic has a similar native plug-in.

To get a balanced spectrum (no pun intended) in the lower-end i.e. you would need to balance the lower band drives. Try it and you will hear.

Ok, now comes a definitive question: What is in substance the SBC plugin???
Not a multiband EQ, or Comp, 2 low band that uses left/right channel and the others bands that uses both...
Argh!!! What hell is it???
The manual is clear but essential and this bug makes a little confusion in my (our) mind....

The manual seems to be very clear about using your ears with this tool.
If you check the first thread on this device (when it was announced) you will find me questioning this exact thing (as in the "bug").

I join the opinion it is a kind of multiband limiter. Maybe something a bit too elaborated, but using it I've got that impression.

Yes, it is, with some colorfull distortion.
It can really make stuff sound great.

As for the two lower bands - they are the only bands that seem to introduce this balance-shift in the stereo-field. I find that I can get the balance back by raising the second band a little higher than the first (lowest).
