Hello! So I have just purchased an old Pulsar 1 card (haven't received it yet) but was curious on what can actually be accomplished with 3-4 DSP only. All the videos I see on youtube just seem to specify as "not much" or "you really need 12 DSP minimum" to reach somewhat of scope's potential.
For example, can just one synth device (4 voice polyphony) + one effect be doable on 4 DSP?
If I end up really getting into scope I will look to add more cards, but for now I am fine just as a learning phase and doing one synth/device at a time. I am mainly interested in the modular part of it and the drum synthesis engines. I would be fine if 4 DSP can do full drum synthesis, minimum 4 note polyphony would be enough, since I would just be multi track recording to my main PC anyways. I am merely treating my scope PC as a "sound source."
I just built up an XP machine with stuff I had laying around, which I plan to use for scope only.
Specs:
Intel motherboard
400 watt PSU
2.4 GHZ P4
4GB Ram
120 SSD
AGP for video
5 PCI SLOTS
Thanks in advance!

A 3 DSP card would probably do that job at 44Khz sample rate.
