That Mattomat looks interesting, yes.
I just want to make clear, though, I wasn't saying I am looking for a sequencer. I was just surprised by the apparent lack of native Scope-sequencers, apart from the ones inside modular4. Of course, if there are any interesting ones that I missed, I'd like to try them out :)
And I'd love to beta test any newly built ones..

Yes, that's great stuff. Inside Modular though. But that doesn't make it less great :)

Quote from website:

What is The NDLR...

We love our synthesizers but don't play keyboards all that well, ...

Do we really need machines as a crutch ?
Isn´t it a good idea investing time for practising keyboard playing when using synthesizers instead buying more and more gear ?

Most of what I hear I can do w/ my fingers and only a few devices,- hardware or software.

Nonetheless I appreciate "sequencers" as modulators of all kind of a synth´s parameters.

This! Mainly! And used in an arp like way!

Can also inspire notes/riffs you wouldn’t of thought to play!

But I totally agree, I like to use my actual fingers to play the music. 😀 still, step sequencing is fun..

I googled it for you

https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... r+free+vst

"Best 15 Free Arpeggiator VST/AU Plugins that Sound Great..."

They do not "sound" great, they make great notes...

What do you mean independence? You like your arps to be with their own tempo? Record something with the arp let's say 130 bpm and then change the bpm to 120 and enjoy some excellent non-synchronised tunes.
Colin Benders | FULL SESSION | Modular Jam
It's good that these poser stuff interests you. Real time jamming is very boring to my ears, a man's head can only do a number of things. Equipment that costs thousands deliver nothing in contrast to a laptop in the hands of a knowledgable person. Cables and shit just get between the eyes and the brain and create a special type of confusion that sounds "good". If I had paid 20000 for equipment and my output was inferior to a person with a laptop I would have forced myself to eat the cables in an ritualistic suicidal act. That's what I like in modern sound tech and in sound and music in general, the democratic and equality vibe, that it let's the poor but diligent person to win the race no matter what...

sorry man I just didn't find fascinating the music result. Just an opinion according to a musical taste and some thoughts here and there.
But do you disagree that "a man's head can only do a number of things"?

Although I didn't dive into the modular yet, I enjoy those videos. The guy obiously knows where to touch his cabling to get the desired changes.
Talking about sequencers, I tried many of them, but somehow I'm addicted to "tracker" style. So I spend half of my time programming my own sequencer. Mattomat didn't fit for my wishes, but the concept and the hybrid DSP/Windows implementation could be a role model to do other things.

As we're all getting older, this video proves, that sound with modulars is still possible:
