Pulsar 1 (Creamware) Help help help!!!

Post by inharmonique »

Hi, how is it going....

I have a Pulsar 1 and have a problem, i´m trying to contact with technical support but they don´t pay me much attentions cause Pulsar 1 is Creamware...

To be more concrete

My computer:
Intel Pentium 4 631 Processor 3000MHz
Place ECS RC415ST
Chipset ATI Radeon Xpress
1792 MB DDR2 Memory
AMI Bios

I have a Creamware Pulsar 1 and stopped working.

I worked with version 3.1 and It´s stopped working ...
I tried to update me with Sonic Core SCOPE PCI 32 Bit v5.1.2709
and says:

cannot start software board diver or not
properly installed"

The PCI card is fine intalled, drivers must be ...
I downloaded the pulsar 1 drivers and still does not work ...
Any advice???
Thank you so much.
Good day. Isra.

v5.1 is not free. you can purchase it on the S|C webshop.

if the card has stopped working, it may just be broken, in which case there is nothing to be done, at least by Sonic|Core. there aren't parts, schematics or staff to repair the Creamware made cards. just updating the software wouldn't fix anything. the driver is part of the v5.1 software installation, there are no additional drivers to install.

if you tried to write support today, you wouldn't have had an answer because the support server is down. if it has been in the recent past, then perhaps you didn't like the answer. it would have been the same answer that i am giving now. by no means would i have ignored you just because the card is a Pulsar1. there is no magic that i can do, however.

when v5.1 is installed, the driver should be installed. when Scope starts, the software does a quick check to communicate with the hardware. if the hardware is not functioning, you will get an error message like the one you describe. if the card works, you should at least get a registration window and a chance to import the keyfile, which should fail since you don't have keys for v5.1. the card must be something like 17 or 18 years old. it can last much longer, but it's not surprising that it might fail at this point in time.

Which version of Scope do you have installed?

And which version of Scope did your keyfile last work for?

Download Scope 4.0. If you want 5.1 then you will have to pay for it as already stated by garyb. You will still have to email your card's serial to Sonic Core for a new key.

the wait for v4 keys will be long. be patient if you go that way.

you can also use v3.1 again, although now that you have installed the v5.1 driver, windows will always try to use it, and the v5.1 driver will NOT work with v4 or v3.1. if you use v4 or v3.1, you will have to manually choose the old Creamware driver.

don't worry about 4.x keys - there is no real difference between 3.1 and 4.x
(at least not that I noticed)
I'm using 4.5 atm but wouldn't hesitate to install version 3 again, which i considered a couple of times already.
Stay in 3.1 and 32 bit, just get rid of the wrong driver as Gary mentioned.
The point is what you achieve with the system, not the label on the box ;)

cheers, Tom

I intend to purchase the latest software because I like the concept and think it's good for the money (on the second hand market at least) but will be starting out with 4.0.

it's not just drivers that you need. you need the whole program too. the card is useless without it. S|C only has archives back to v4. Creamware made the cards and software v4.5 and older. S|C only has those archives as a goodwill gesture. i can dig out v3.1 and put it on the web for download, but it will take a few days, probably.

Isn't Scope 3.1 on SC FTP here:
ftp://sonic-core.net/software/Previous_ ... sar301.zip
Just named Pulsar instead of Scope but I think that was the name at that time. No ?

There are a lot of useful old version archive kindly provided on SC ftp site. :)

Will this work at all with Windows 7?

I can set up XP but will have access to v4 anyway but I am willing to try anything to learn how it all functions.

Well that's Pulsar 3.01 - that's not the same thing as SFP 3.1c.

Odd they have this earlier version and not 3.1c though.
