Hi there 2 questions please ??

1- i bought this mainboard ,, good choice ??
2- is the adaptec bad for my system performance ????

I use the adaptec for my cheetah 10.000 rpm disk and the plextor cd rom & burner

@ 1.: no, it´s currently the best one for the use with pulsar.

@ 2.: as it´s an adaptec, you should be able to decrease the used pci bandwidth manually (maybe from 80 to 40 mb/s), so it´s also a good choice for a scsi controller that shall be used with pulsar.
but btw, isn´t the scsi disk a bit loud...? if you don´t definitely need <i>very</i> fast access times (like for the logic audio engine), i´d go with a cheap but performant (and quiet... *sigh* :grin: ) ide hard disk, maybe an IBM IC035, or a maxtor.

Jep u are right

My Seagate cheetah is fast but loud !!!!!!

So would u think that a maxtor 7200 is good for recording purpose also ???

lets say a maxtor 7200 ide ???

i orded a Maxtor DiamondMax + 20.4 GB IDE 7200rpm

especially for audio purposes is a 20gb hd a wise decision. its price relatively high for the offered size, but as long as it uses only two read-/write-heads, it´s a lot quieter than the 40gb model (four heads) or the one with 60gb (six!...).

however, have fun! :smile:
