Rack ears for my Xite 2

Post by next to nothing »

I might be posting in the wrong section, but there is something bothering me about my imaginary Xite 2. I am happy with the unit as I imagine it, but where the F are the rack ears??
I couldn't be happier in general though. Introducing the new Scope X platform, SC finally cut its ties with backward compatibility. The OS is running off the Xite itself, only externally linked to daw via USB-C or WiFi. This means it can be utilized standalone as well, and with its integrated sequencer and the top mounted 16 CV i/o's, both euro rack standard and syncable with most new "boutique" synths such as the SE-02, it can become the heart of any studio, while leaving your daw to do more important stuff such as facebook or pornhub.

I love the fact that while it features a touchscreen, it also features a touch pad for navigating. This comes to handy when you enter "studio mode", where you get a similar screen experience as you did with the classic Scope Fusion Platform. Also note you can add a wireless mouse and a HDMI screen (via displayport) for convenience. However, when you switch to "Live mode", the touch pad becomes an XY controller, freely routable as everything else on this magnificent controller, which by the way features a ribbon controller in addition to the 16 freely assignable knobs knobs and numerous buttons.

Now of course i know the DSP power and I/Os are limited in this unit compared to the Xite 1, due to space & heat issues. But seeing how affordable the expansion units are, be it the DSP banks or the IO expanders, I will be upgrading shortly (in the imaginary future). BUT PLS SUPPLY RACK EARRS!!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I'm glad to see that Sonic Core is going anti-Roland and making devices with extra giant knobs instead of the dinky ones.

Yup, i totally prefer big, silky smooth imaginary knobs. I thougt i might add some imaginary faders as well, but they would be too small and in the way, so I am saving them for an imaginary control expansion.

Well, the internet is full of toys under developement ...
When finally realized, they become tools,- more or less usable ones though !

Machines aren´t really creative ... just my opinion.

Xite is a cool tool and not a toy, I use it for what it does best.
That´s what I do w/ everything I own.
I just only fear we´ll lose connectivity to the newer computer platforms sooner or later and I might run out of "old" computers or computer componets to keep it working one day.

I don´t want any XITE-2,- I hope for a SCOPE software upgrade usable w/ XITE-1 and latest WIN systems w/o the need to pass on functionality and devices,- and probably for Apple/MAC as well.

If there is any development on scope, then concentrate on the pc, because a Mac offers no advantages. It would be nice to have an win 10 upgrade for Scope where you can use Touchscreens effectively and use this as a cool controller under your fingertips. Win7 is not good for Touchscreen use.
Better than the scope fake picture png below, called xite2.png it's just a bad rendering picture mounted into any office.
 out and about for music production. Are you still configguring your Studio  music first!

Of course it is, that's why address it as "imaginary" at all possibilities :) It's just me playing with thoughts of what I'd like to see in a future product, while i am exploring Blender (free 3D software), while maybe incorporating some of the suggestions that might come up in the discussion. Haven't used it in a while, so having some inspiration while modelling is of great help :)
