HELP! XITE communication error

Post by dtb »

hello,

FYI: I am posting for a bandmate ...

New PC -> ASUS P8P67 Rev. 3, i7, 16 gb ram, 3 hd's, graphics card gigabyte hd6700
Old Scope 15dsp card did work -> pci bandwidth limit reached ... nothing helped ...
see also this thread http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=30557

ordered XITE 1D ... installaion/aktivation went well ... when scope 5.1 is being started an error message occurs ... click ok -> then I can use xite ...
when inserting some new hw-modules (adat source for a16 ...) a lot of error messages are displayed .. see pics ... really annoying!
any hints? seems to be a irq issue ... new mobo? I don't wanna get a new processor too ... would like to use all components I've bought so far ...

Scroll to the bottom of the 'XITE-1 Installation & Tips' section here, where GaryB gives a fix hint for this error :

http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_09/xit_mast.htm

Worked for me. And I didnt have to uninstall the PCI boards (still using 'em).

The copy violation thing seems to be an issue with the connection between the card and the rack module. Is the cable ok? Inserted the whole way? Bend? I d try to unplug replug while everything is off. Also check the power supply.Plug it into a different outlet as groundloops-problems seem to trigger that error easily.

Its a weird error. There must be something up with the pc as its working for most people.Where are you located if you dont mind asking? I gladly help in person as these things can be very fricky to sort over the web.And ...did you get a new product? This is very important!

Just a simple thing: You installed the new XITE version of SCOPE, and you are running that? And you are NOT running the PCI version of SCOPE? Make sure any links you use to run SCOPE are pointing to C:/Program Files/SCOPE XITE or similar.

I only ask because the initial error mentions PCI master issues. The XITE-1/D has different hardware I/O, and uses different devices within SCOPE to access them, which would explain the second error you listed. It would also explain Serial Number/Copy Protection issues noted.

Good thought! All reg entries in windows should be deleted from the old install.

Next step would be to try it on another PC for sure. If it works, problem solved. If it doesnt, then most likely XITE unit needs to be sent back to base.

Hi all,

some more info:
updated to 5.1 version of scope for the old 15 dsp-card after for the new pc ... as I mentioned eralier ... scope card and 5.1 software didn't work (pci bandwidth problems).
so we decided to get an xite-1d and return the old scope card to sonic-core.
after receiving xite 1d we pulled out the old card and inserted the express card.
prior to installing the scope version for xite -1d we made a backup copy of the original scope folder then did an uninstall of the scope software.
after that we did an install of new scope 1d version (dvd that comes with xite -1d). everything went fine ... copied the 2 files manually as recommended in the installing instructions. then we imported the keyfile ... OK.
so far so good. but then this weird error occured when starting the scope software (communication error).
fixed that with manipulation of cset.ini like garyb recommended.
disabled nearly "everything" in bios and os (win7 64 bit). no energy saving at all ...
we also had an error called 30 hardware detected ... could not connect to scope hardware ... but that dissapeared aftre rebooting ...
it's not my hardware so I have to drive to my friend location to check if we can get things sorted out.
I think it is a mobo/graphics card issue ... checking the registry for old scope entries is a good recommendation. mabe I should uninstall the whole thing do a fresh install of scope xite-1d softwware. before that deleting all scope related entries maybe this works ... is there anyone out there using a ASUS P8P67 Rev.3 with xite ... just curious ....
will keep you informed ...
thanx again for the advices.

that sounds like either a bad hdmi cable, or power saving settings in windows that need to be disabled. is the XITE sharing an irq with anything?

Re: HELP! XITE communication error

hi garyb,

- used 2 hdmi cables (the one from that comes with xite and antother one) ... didn't help ... will use another one this evening ...
- I have already disabled all power saving settings in windows and imo the error message would not pop up that fast - only if something goes to "sleep"
- irq is 18 but I didn't check out if this irp is shared. isn't it true that if so there's no chance to have xite it's "own" dedicated irq. but I'll check that this evening ... if the irq is shared then I try to disable the corresponding device ... hopefully nothing important ..
btw: in that mobo are 2 pci-express slots available I could use. unfortunately one is totally covered by the graphics card (sitting under it) so the only possibility is to use that one cnext to the graphics card.

Did you download and install the latest version?

The latest versions can be found here:

Just to double-check - that's the 64-bit version I posted. I think you said in another thread you were 64-bit, is that right?

When I select the German version by viewing the site in German it seems to be the same - so I assume it's just one installer.

Here's the page:
