Have an excite D..., and a few of johns synths, can the soft synth Solaris ( core or full) do the same as hardware, and can we get that Oby sound ?, ( van halen jump sound?), I love that johns synths has filter velocity after touch , just not sure if core has it vs full Solaris ?....

Soft Solaris cannot do everything the hardware one can, as someone said the other day 'get both'.

BTW, when did you get XITE-1D because theres a new list under construction here :

Thot so, If Klaus helped with Solaris ( I think he did six string), everyone's in good hands, I would love six string live, for the electric solos , That is just a light year ahead of anything , he's brilliant , ....omnisphere cant even come close , ( its good for acoustic samples , but can't touch six strings electric )

FWIW Solaris soft Sample Oscillators can load large samples from what I remember.
It's just a beast on DSP though.
I could get 8 voices on some presets but mostly 5 / 6.
But they sound great.
Look for the preset called Mulhalland Drive...........amazing.

Congrats on the D, it's the bomb for Modular IV and Mixing with tons of effects.

I have been trying different combinations of effects to allow me to get the maximum drive from each hardware synth w/o clipping.
Naturally Limiting is needed.
But I am finding I like these Multi Effects devices like SpaceF's LimFat II really useful.
Great gain stage and several types of Limiting slopes, FAT and basic EQ are great following an Expander. It's nice to get slow attacks on an ADSR but their volume from start to finsih aren;t as drastic.
The effects on the left are for the SE-1X, and it has a modded distortion switch I had added, the effects on the right are for Solaris.
The STM2448 Channels are housing the effects, but while I would record differently I was looking for maximum saturation of digital signals live, and it appears as though I hit the Sweet Spot.
The difference between the Solaris and the SE-1X in terms of sounding Analog are indistinguishable, at least to me.

Here's more TosLink to AES/EBU Beauty.
Just some snippets for other users and new presets.
Notice this synth never takes a bath in effects, totally dry and such thick sounding FAT BASTARDS.

Nice analog sounds, with plenty of filter depth & tonal variation w/ ribbon.

Crunchy as Granola served on toast!
If the cleaner swept with as much depth, we'd soon have holes in the carpet !
