Hi,

Can anyone tell me the impedance of the Xite headphone socket?

Cheers

Good question.
I can guess but only because of the quality using 3 way IEM"s. I would say 8-50 Ohm's, but I will ask them today.
I don't have that much audible roll off on my 13.3 Ohm IEM's, and my headphone set is 32 Ohms, so hence the 8 - 50 Ohm is an estimate.
It's a great question though, because knowing if you can drive multiple headsets from a single socket is important if that is what you're thinking.

isn't there a spec sheet somewhere? I did not install/unpack the xite software, because I don't have one, but afair there must be a manual set in the folder where it installs to.
does it contain something about hardware specs, jimmy?

I am waiting for a return reciept for a purchase and an email, but I will check now as I have the DAW up and running.
I hit that before I even make coffee...

Edit: There is a great Scope 5 revision, but nothing for the XITE-1. I should get a return correspondance within the hour since I attached my Modular IV payment...
I was emailing Ralf and Holger everyday about things for the first week or so when I got mine last April, but it ran so smoothly, w/ the exception of the VDAT blue screens, that I was concerned with using it live. It would be nice to have a small pdf for the XITE-1 though.

Knowing the output impedance is important. I use a Hafler pre-amp when I record into Nuendo using Genelecs and it sounds awesome. But at my crib I use powered nearfields, IEM's and a pair of Yamaha 32 Ohm Cans. I could always buy another headphone if I needed to, but I would love to see what multiple sets of IEM's could do w/ the headphone out.
The Headphone Destination module is a very useful routing option.

No it isn't ready.
My future XFiancee asked me what I wanted for Christmas.
So before she changes her mind I gave her a PayPal link, after I begged to pay in advance.
They are use to this from me so naturally they accepted.
I would love an email w/ keys on the 24th though..........Ankyu................ :D

OK, since we're on Headphones, what the heck is the Hardware IO called "Phones Source?" Can I actually capture the ringing in my ears?

It could be a spare line input that works when you are not using phones? electronics is clever these days :)

hahah it doesnt have to work like that. could just work as a line in or headphone out depending what i/o in scope is connected and if both maybe then one gets precedence.

just guessing here though :)

... hahah... you seen it yourself, didn't you ? :D
bla bla bla has changed, wanna store bla ? Detect bla bla - Change to bla bla bla ... ;)

on a serious note, I'm really curious about the IO section of the XITE
would be extremely convenient to have all that in such a small footprint, no cables etc...

cheers, Tom
