JoeyD always kills it. Jesus Molina is just a monster too.
DOMi will be a Warrior before long, great talent at such a young age.

I still think WaveState is the big pleaser though.

It’s ready to ship, so I grabbed one.

Here’s why.

Sounds great, enough polyphony to replace Keyscape, ZebraHZ and Omnisphere.
I’ll use it as a sample layer plus the additional synth sounds and Wavetable stuff can easily replace the software.

Now I can have just a PianoTeq/Kontakt rig.
Intel’s Quad Core i3 10350k is due out this year.
Much faster than my 4790k which is plenty of power as is.
Give it one more year then grab the quad.
Don’t need these hot 50 core CPUs.
That Rabbit hole is too deep for me.

Also.
I’m going to cut out the keyboard for kids and VESA adapt it like my USB 3 Monitor.
You can saw that puppy off since it looks like a module with an attached cheese board already.
I’ll beat Korg by doing it myself.

I can’t drag Solaris around my gigs anymore.
I’m saving it for bigger gigs which I haven’t done for a few years now.

It will be a skinny ass monitor sized module right above the K4.

Next Solaris Rackmount.
Maybe ready by years end too.

NAMM has been screaming the last few years.
Korg really brought a big product line to show off.
Everybody’s making money and spending it.
So that’s how you boom an economy?

Who would’ve thought.

Yeah they reckon its a $17 billion global market. And there's no shortage of new ideas competing for a slice of that pie.

yeah WaveState sounds really nice and i like the price. Your right about the 37 keys. Doesn't really seem necessary with 64voice poly but I guess it could work with a 61> key controller added on.
So many options coming out these days

not like anyone (ok, i can imagine some, but..) would lie down on their keys to max out the poly. is it polytimbral (multiple midi channels?) also, long decays, like for piano's, require a great many more polyphony.

what i like best these years, is that, unlike what me and many with me expected, isn't happening: while many do produce completely In The Box, we've seen a multitude of great developments hardware-wise, and often at affordable prices. the busstop toys from korg may have lead the way, but there's so many others. had never expected Arturia (remember their first thin'ish sounding plugins) to come out with KeyStep sequencers, or Behringer to release so many analog synths. Akai's new MPC One goes beyond the old legendary series, and at what a price. I got me an MPC 2000XL last year for about this price.

Oops, gotta run and cut this short.

I'm quite interested in WaveState myself. John's involvement is the icing on top, but I've wanted a wavestation for a long time and never quite got around to buying the rack unit. May have to invest in this sometime this year. I'm considering replacing my JV-1000 with a rack unit anyway, as it's keyboard has the red glue issue appearing and I really only use it for a few pad sounds that my JD-800 lacks...I have had my eye on a JV-5050 or Motif Rack ES unit on craigslist lately which would easily replace it. If I did that, I'd have ample room to move the Solaris front & center and put the WaveState and something else small on my A-Frame this year.

Finally a decent video of just the sounds for the UDO Super 6 Synthesizer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEjYXgMXNQY
~2500euros puts it in a category with lots of competition.
Sure does sound sweet though.

KORG Wavestate sounds great and the price is great.
This is clearly an improvement over the Wavestation SR I own.

But NO Channel-AT transmission and it doesn´t transmit/receive MIDI "Local Off" on/off commands,- which is a bit sad even there´s a global settings option for "local off".

Yeah Bud I think they are going to sell a LOT of those Wavestate. I'm considering ordering one but mostly to take on the road with me. Size-wise I think it is just a little bit too big for regular airline travel. Too bad as it would have provided me many hours of productive work sitting in a hotel room. I might end up getting the Akai MPC One instead.

Dude just hack the keys off.
It’s a shitty non AFT keybed nobody wants to say they made.
Imagine asking who made the keybeds and they reply we don’t know, but the price was right.
It’s like NASA shooting you up in a rocket, using thousands of separate parts, made by the lowest bidder.
No thanks.

I’m already all over this and it’s 23 x 7 x 3 hacked.
If I don’t like it sell it as a desktop. Everyone wants to be the guy getting the first desktop.
I can hide my saw cuts with flex seal and some wooden strips.

Man, you did it !
Pics plz, plz, plz ... or it didn´t happen ! :D

When I looked at the pics on Thomann site I thought to myself "that would be a nice, compact module w/o the keys".

I bought one and will hack that motha’ as soon as possible.
There’s extra GBs of sample space too, 2 GB’s according to the British Chap @ SState.

Korg has a GitHub space with weird named files and Samples.
So until then the samples I heard were damn good, and are enough to get me going.

I’m in a Psychedelic Blues group that has a few great originals, and this synth is fresh.
It will deliver exactly what we need.

I’ll share, don’t know when and I hate asking because ETA (estimated time of arrivals) is always wrong.

 dawman you are one special person to maim a brand new instrument like that. I just don't think I could do that.
Besides, I'm pretty sure it's the 23 inches that won't always fit in the airplane and if I hacked off the keys then I'd have to bring something to play it on. Ahh well, I might still buy one anyhow cause it really seems like a good buy.
Gotta see pics of the sawed off shotgun though. 8)

Think I'm buying a WaveState, need something to perk my ears up as I've been slogging away at 3D work since last September.

Well, the upshot is that Americanmusical.com decided I qualify for 12-payment plan with no credit check because I've used their payment plan option so much. Wavestate wasn't terribly expensive, but spreading its cost across 12 months makes it a no brainer. The downside is that it's been stuck in the midwest with delivery exceptions triggered by weather all week. So hopefully I can report someday on how it sounds and how it is to operate, was hopeful that would be this weekend as I have a bit of a lull from work at the moment.

Hope you guys are all having fun in your own respective workspaces or doing something equally fun or relaxing!

March 6th I’ll have the WaveState.
Already have my hacked version case. (It’s for the German made MP5 automatic weapon)
And so the WalWart can’t be seen an extension cable.
Security Cams all have these.
