house of the rising sun, 1964, showing a touchy choreografy, which I never saw back in those days as my parents didn't have tv then. Europe, culturally still recovering from WW2, was far behind in time compared to the US, .

Johnny Kendall was one of the very early adopters in Holland, his first hit was called St James Infirmary, mid 1964, same as the Animals song.
It was in the air 8)
It made my think of (the sound of) the Animals.

The guy is 70 now, life on tv tonight in a talkshow about forgotten heros, and still works as a wall-paperer, like back in the 60ties.
In 2003 he performed on a reunion party, same song, still going strong:

As a big Underworld fan I was delighted to find this on my Facebook wall when I got home from work today: https://soundcloud.com/underworld/saved ... isterons-1

...mix of outtakes from the upcoming 20th year anniversary special edition release of their debut album Dubnobasswithmyheadman. Must listen :)

Last time I saw Underworld was at the STRP art & technology festival in Eindhoven in 2010.
Good life act they are.
Thanks for the tip!
Not their best work/recordings of course (imho), but for a fan it's a nice look into the kitchen :)

Here a classic one by Underworld, Born Slippy, as used in the film Trainspotting ('96):

And then there's always Dark and Long...

Cool I was at the STRP gig as well. And pretty much every other Underworld concert in the Netherlands since 1999 or so (and a bunch in Belgium, England, Germany and once in New York ;)). Definitely a great live act, although these days they play the same setlist over and over while back in the day they improvised shows much more and you never knew what they were gonna play and in what order.
Sadly I couldn't get tickets for the one off special live performance of Dubnobasswithmyheadman they're gonna do in London in october. Tickets sold out for that in seconds.

Hey man Nestor :) Yeah I'm still around. Never really left but life has gotten in the way of doing much music the past couple of years. Trying to get into it a bit again now though and at least I have my Scope system running smoothly again as well.
