d-comp to be xtc compatible!

Post by the19thbear »

i emailed D-mute about the d-comp ( the best free compressor imo!) and he said that within the next two weeks, if all went well, he would start making the d-comp xtc compatible.

yaeh!!!

d-comp works well in xtc mode (and d-filter too).

here is the way to get d-comp ( and lots of devices ) working in xtc mode. (got this tip from digitalaudiosoft).
remove your "old" d-comp.mdl and your "old" .dll from their folders and restart your daw without d-comp device.
copy those ".dll" into the xtc vst plugins folder and d-comp.mdl ( m and s ) into your sfp/devices/plug-ins folder ,and not into a folder.( if needed rescan your plugin folder ).

hope it'll help.

hi! i have got d comp working for a long long time in xtc mode. but the problem is that it wont save the settings!
UNLESS i open up the "effects rack" ( frogot what the real name is) device in xtc mode, and then load the d comp from there.
That leads to the d comp disappering in the background, and its kind of a hassle to work that way..
would be alo$t easier if you could load it directly into cubase.

but please! let me know if your d-comp saves the settings!!

thanks!

it doesn't save settings because there's no parameters for vst automation.
looks like you'll have to wait a new version.
i think you should try das2a because it is the same kind of compressor.(all parameters are saved , the same for xtc automation).
