Ah. I thought you were doing a cover of John Cage's 4'33.

You're developing a modular DAW? Is there a link to a page that describes it?

It's in a early stage and i' m busy with music creation.
No there is no web page for it, its too early.
I have created about 100 modules, finished the modular base, ASIO, wave, midi, analyzers,
working on the audio editor, (similar to Wavelab),
working on the midi editing and score (similar to logic).
There is also a Tetris game in it )), and i have made a modules folder named "ai" from artificial intelligence.
Now i have to make "ai" modules. ))
Lately i studied a bit about spectral synthesis (working with FFT reconstructed additive synthesis).

I estimate 2018 to be "ready". It will be Windows only.
I'm not sure if it will reach the quality to compete other DAWs.
I make it so to replace Reaper, old Logic and Wavelab in my setup.
The amount of work is great.
I aim to simplicity, one size fits all interface, i hate customizing, and settings in DAWs.
Clean interface, and "logical" behavior. No "content", audio loops etc.

I like audio programming, audio synthesis, DSP and C language. I admire Dennis Ritchie.
Once upon a time i was a graphic designer so i have an interest in graphics. I use opengl.
I hope i' ll find some time soon to continue it. The sound is good.
I use some of the sounds in my music, audio granular stuff, "wavetable 3d oscillator" etc.
Of course i' m still using and will use Scope and Xite-1 for my music.
The power of the DSP's is far beyond driven.
I'm also accustomed to it, when i work in other systems i am a fish out of water.
I also like that DSP's don't change behavior as more are loaded opposite to the CPU which after 50% starts to cough.

I'm really satisfied with my setup -> Scope Xite-1 and a i5 laptop. I can do anything with it.

My laptop CPU never reaches more than 15%. I never have a crash or a misbehavior.
I don't care about what other people do, work with.

11 Modulars with 12 voices at 96khz is very impressive. I know XITE-1 can be fussy in certain situations with fairly large loads at 96khz that's what makes it really impressive. 96khz is lovely but can be fussy in many situations with large loads and thus scare some people off but my projects are generally small anyways so 96khz is just fine for me. SCOPE definitely sounds better at 96khz and latency is improved, plus no need for low quality oversampling algorithms being used in many plugins, plus no dithering needed cause final format for high-fidelity operation allows for one to stay at 24bit, plus DVD-A/Blu-ray discs are far superior to CD in many many ways (if one chooses a high-end disc to go with high samplerate 96khz operation). I wouldn't want to work at any other samplerates now. 96khz is the best IMO and makes SCOPE even better. 11 Modulars with 12 voices is extremely impressive to me and far more than I'd ever need wich is capability that's great to have. 6 years after I purchased my XITE-1 and it still has enough dsp power to meet my needs and more. Still sounds the best as well.

Any chance you can code for allowing one to import 3D surface patches (.stl or MATLAB/Mathematica)? This could be extremely handy...

Yes there are a lot of possibilities, 3d surface import, equation free entry,
but at the end, one compromises between collected - tested entries that offer some accepted / tuned results
and "random" design that may provide some interesting output now and then
but also a lot of similarity.
It is not a coincidence that Waldorf offers the same wavetables the last 30 years.
I suppose even at waveform design there are limits.

The next step (already taken) is to create the wavetable by audio,
in a granular way, or create entries from FFT analyzing of signals.

Both procedures don't really extend the basic sound for subtractive synthesis
(rather create different synthesis methods)
because one needs clear, defined sources with a lot of harmonics.

Also there is no point using a elaborated procedures to create a timbre when you can create similar timbres with simpler methods.

interesting,
but also project after restart stable?
i have less beautiful experiences collected with marginal settings...
