There are a few threads around, which I'll find and link to, and I have a stack of sites to check for free samples. If you find some that are STS Compatible -- SoundFonts, AKAI, .WAV - please post links to the sites! No pirate stuff tho

Akai Samples
http://www.samplearena.com/
http://www.akaipro.com/libraries/free.htm
ftp://ftp.mfi.com/pub/keyboard/AKAI/
http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Sound_Files/ ... and_Loops/ -- mostly .WAV actually.

Thanks alot Sub for those links! I'll make a small collection of mine also and post them...

By the way, i though this forum would support uploading files like the 'devices' or 'modular' forum? This way, i could put up some of my best 'handmade' STS program?

Anyway, i'm very glad this forum exist now. I'm sure it will attract a couple of 'sampling' expert this way  And having expert on a forum is always nice!

C Ya!

I wonder if eliam's thread should get migrated over here. Or maybe I will edit my post and just link to it.

But yeah - please share your links here!

Thanks for the links - I'm off for many happy hours downloading
Just like to say that it is good to be here in the STS forum
And I look forward to marcuspocus's posting.

I definitely approve the idea of moving the "get the most out of your sampler" thread here; that's where it belongs. And that would inspire me to continue to share some tips without feeling they are drowned in miscellaneous data...

Thanks for this new area, John!!

Bored out of my mind i made a bunch of samples from the NI FM7 and posted on
http://members.fortunecity.com/jupiter8/
For some still unknown reason the samples that are bigger than 1 Mb does'nt work, thank you very much.
But the smaller ones does.

Uploading 40 Mb on a 56 k modem an two thirds does'nt work. Arrrgh.

Hopefully i will get the answer to why and maybe i'll upload some Reaktor sounds as well.

Enjoy!
BTW. They are STS programs.

haven't had a chance to check out your links but thanks all the same, as I'm sure they are fantastic, and as soon as I get back to my own machine I'll be merrily downloading to my hearts content. One other site, which is big and maybe everybody knows about it, is http://www.thesoundsite.com (if this link doesn't work tell me and I'll find the correct one - I just know it is something like that). It has about 30 000 soundfonts on it for free, some of which are brilliant, and some of which, of course, are awful. Patience is required but it does have some gems ( there's a really good Cello and Clarinet lurking there somewhere )

Hasta luego

It is actually http://www.thesoundsite.net

It appears to be under reconstruction at the moment, but it worth a try, and certainly will again be great if it is not currently working.

Hi, has anyone uploaded the Akai files at ftp://210.227.67.8/downloads/sound_libraries/ to a faster server? I'm having real problems getting these files from here and its vvvvvvvvvery slow. Help would be greatly appreciated as I have my eye on the 256MB piano
