Anybody know how to raise the volume level of my sts files?

Talk about the STS series of Creamware samplers.

Anybody know how to raise the volume level of my sts files?

Post by Pete »

I have CDXTRACT, and I converted an older EMU disc to our .s and .p files. It worked really well, except the level is too low. I can raise it by using the sampler's loudness page, or the level control for each sample. But that's not much fun.

A wav editor like Goldwave lets me raise the level of a folder full of .wav files - that's what I'd rather do. But it doesn't handle the .s format of our sampler files.

Any suggestions?

On the main sts surface click settings - the volume there is half-mast by default. If you ain't done so already :)

Yep, found that.

I'm finding some sounds have a few notes where the loops disappeared, so I'm READING THE MANUAL! Whoa.

My Roland S-series disks converted well also, and they're the right loudness. They will also need some individual tweaks to get working, though.

I really like the STS - it's great. It doesn't have the Akai S3000's small sample restriction of 16 or 32 MB. So I wish someone'd notice that, and make us the character-filled blockbuster of a library that it deserves.
