There are also non Intel boards as well

https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty% ... dex.us.asp

This is AMD socket FM2+ motherboard - 3 PCI slots - The strongest CPU on this socket won't hold a candle to the Intel i7's - but will perform like an i3 and uses CPU's

https://www.amd.com/en/products/specifi ... ,3631,3521

Well thats about it for now - If this helps someone get PCI slot boards for Scope cards then great.......

If you look at the similar products, you'll see a lot of cards like these that have NO rear exhaust:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6814500410
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6814137079

These will simply dump all heat into your case and thus right on top of your DSP cards as well.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Also note that if you're trying to use 3 PCI cards with that MSI board then you'll need a single slot card (the cooler can't extend into the PCIe slot below as all dual slot cards will) which will limit you to HPC / Workstation low power options like this one:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6ZP5UA8947

Lastly, note that the CURRENT version of the MSI board is Z170A M5 (not M3) and has only 1 PCI slot, so make sure you get the right board if you go this way.
This MSI board>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>does have integrated graphics so the top PCI-e slot doesn't have to be used - If 3 PCI cards are used this may be best - as long as it doesn't interfere with ASIO audio etc.....

https://www.amazon.de/MSI-7978-015R-Gam ... 9CHEZE5FGH

3 new ones for a reasonable price -

I'll confess I bought one or two last year !!!

Sadly the 7700 K has increased in price on Amazon maybe more rare now - Nobody wants the PCI boards - apart from us - :)

That's a great board. Can't find 170 new.

Germans always on it. Doesn't deliver to UK unfortunately but maybe a friend.
If a message was sent to them - with Google translate they may send to UK - If you wanted the board enough -

Amazon also have 24/7 help line and they could arrange a delivery possibly - !!! - who knows

Are you looking for a 3 PCI slot board?

That's OK you're welcome - :)

I got a few motherboards last year or two with PCI slots - and having a PCI card or two it needs to be 100% sure that they can be used but they need boards to go into - :D :)

Right, that's it - someone else can find some more - ! - :P

don't forget the iBase motherboards - :)

Current 2 PCI slot motherboards - AMD socket AM4 = Ryzen 5 / 7 (maybe 3 as well) - eg Ryzen 7 1700/1800 X = Ryzen 5 1600 etc......

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350-TOMAHAWK
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350-PC-MATE.html
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350-GAMING-PLUS.html

All 3 above boards are current and are pretty much the same minus one/two differences that are small.

If someone has 2 x 15 DSP - You're cooking totally!!! - but if you have 6 dsp PCI cards then there is less power - so people want 3 slots.

There must be a lot of PCI card owners who all of a sudden want a motherboard with PCI slots -

===============================================================================================

AMD socket AM3+ = FX 8350 - this cpu is now £60 GBP and is just shy of a 3770 K power wise -

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA ... -rev-10#ov

A very good board with 2 x PCI slots for AMD socket AM3+ motherboards - But Ryzen 1700 is lots stronger - It's harder to get hold of these now - They were released late in the day just before Ryzen came along

================================================================================================

ASUS Z270
-------------
https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PRIME-Z270-K/

This will work with the 7700 K - The powerful 4 core Intel CPU with great single thread performance

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Current Coffee Lake - eg - 8700 K & lower CPU's - eg 8400
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/H310-D3-rev-10#kf
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/H3 ... upport-cpu - CPU support page

This is low end motherboard with very few chipset lanes - don't expect Z170 bells and whisltes - this is sub-Z97 - but .......3 PCI slots - and

Asus B250 Pro & B250 Plus (H310 is newer)

https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PR ... /overview/

All of a sudden you'll be wandering which one to get!

Asus B360
https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PR ... -PLUS-CSM/

CPU Support
https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PR ... pDesk_CPU/

Amazon have this but for some reason it's inflated by £50 compared to elsewhere

Another Asus, this time B250

https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PR ... /overview/

And an MSI, micro-ATX-

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/H310M-PRO-VHL

Yes there are options, and FWIW, I didn't expect the creation of another chipset eg H310 for budget boards. Because of this PCI slots are here in the current day.

How long these are included on boards who knows-

Will this be the end of the 3 PCI slot boards? - Get them while you can! - These boards are quite cheap but a grunty CPU is not cheap and for some reason there is a leap in price just now.

Intel 9700 K is due out very soon and will be in short supply but in 6 months or so will be plentiful, my point is that maybe then the Coffee Lake current CPU's may drop if there are enough of them remaining.

Well what can I say, I just couldn't resist - :)

https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/TU ... US-GAMING/

Its worth a mention that one of the lower end processors for this socket is

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cp ... Hz&id=3261

Its the higher end of the lower processors a dual core Pentium Gold - :)

or

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cp ... Hz&id=3248

which is around 30 £$E cheaper so would sell for 60 ish

Intel 236 chipset - server level board - bit more confusing than mainstream - compatibiltiy etc..... but for anyone who thinks 3 PCI slots isn't enough, here is 4 - :) - too bad only 3 scope cards can be used!

https://www.asus.com/uk/Commercial-Serv ... /overview/

4 lan connectors -

I've seen one of these on New Egg - :)

-------------------------------------

Intel C232 chipset

https://www.asus.com/uk/Commercial-Serv ... /overview/

A bit more cut down.....

Again 4 PCI slots
2 lan connectors

>>> :lol: - There are some boards @ Amazon - !!!

Just when it looks like there are no more boards with PCI slots on another one appears

https://b2b.gigabyte.com/Server-Motherb ... -rev-10#ov

This looks very pricey from some place I looked online - The Asus was was cheaper

Actually there are so many options even today to run the Scope cards - Not as many as a year ago due to NEW Z97 / Z170 not being available.

The iBase option on Q370 is the same price as HEDT (high end desktop) at 300 - I'm quite taken with Asus TUF H310 (OK it's consumer) and also like the Asus P10S- on C236 which costs around 190

I'll leave it there now - Lots of options for people here who don't have the time to research etc.......

I don't know how many people here will need new boards for their PCI cards but it seems to be one or two every so often here who come to ask about PCI slots

Thank you gentlemen, now we have some useful info to sticky in here. What you stated was exactly my concern, that we have the same questions asked over & over and yet no real guide to summarize things.

The site owners could throw something together for the PCI cards (sticky)-Divide things up-

Intel sockets / chipsets / year approx. / Ram type
775
1366 (i don't know much of these)

AMD sockets / chipsets / year approx. / Ram type

Very confusing with the sockets as it's all numbers - links could be used but if they're taken down / altered (problem) - but pics maybe - or just keep it as it is

It'll be very difficult to get it 100% because there are sub divisions - consumer/gamers market (Z77/Z87/Z97/ and then HEDT eg X79/X99/X299
but not only that > sub divsions in the same socket eg B85 (1150)

Maybe some spread sheets (Excel)- or similar but I'm not a regular user of this

So there would need to be a separate "sticky" per socket - then add to it - lists of the processors on a particular socket etc....
then brands eg- MSI / Asus / AsRock / AsRock Rack / iBase / Supermicro

It's a lot of messing about - is there the demand?
How many users are there here?-&-how many PCI cards are in circulation?

Would S|C ever create AN other PCI-e card for Scope? (probably not)-Xite-1 & Xite-1 D (just a thought)

What does everyone else think? -
I don't mind doing some reaearch for a few weeks or more on and off

I don't think there is enough interest and demand.

In dribs and drabs people will come here to ask and find information

There are boards available like you've seen and there may still be releases for time to come in the low end consumer and low end server brackets.

The Asus H310 TUF
The Asus P10S-V/4L
The iBase Q370

Wow and these are new ish boards as well.

Asus may release (speculation) - a P11S - And if it's the same spec as the iBase model WOW...
