Birdland (Weather Report)

Post by dante »

Heres a Scope/Reason arrangement of the Weather Report classic:

Originally I revoiced this using the Yamaha XG soundset about 14 years ago so decided to dig it out and see how it would sound using Rack Extensions, proTone and proWave.

Nice version of a New York City classic Dante! I remember this one from when it was new. I was just a kid when my parents would take us on day trips to the city for museums and shows. There was a Manhattan radio station that played this and other songs like it called CD 101.9 It seemed to fresh and new back in the early 80's. I always felt this type of Jazz was a real New York City sound. The Scope synths sound really full. Love that sound for sure. You're making me want to look into Reason. You're getting some great work done with it. Your recent mixes are really sounding full. Thanks for sharing!

Now redone after all these years with newer rig, software, plugins, Harrison summing etc. Fatter sound I think....
