async event time resolution limit

Today I measured the max. time resolution for async events. My findings: for normal events, it's up to 64 events/second and for MIDI its 16 events/second (15ms/event and 60ms/event).
Can someone confirm this data or is my system too slow? I mean only 1/4 notes at 120 BPM is a little bit slow for MIDI events>
