Looking for DAS/DASGOST linear crossover files

Post by Peter Drake »

Hello Scopers,

DAS had a freebie for ConvolveQ owners, a linear crossover, that was a download on the DAS site. Alas, it appears that the DAS site is gone, and I can't find the files anywhere.

If you have the files I would be very grateful to get some copies from you. Alternatively, if anyone knows how to contact the DAS people (Olive?) perhaps that would be helpful.

From memory, tgstgs (Thomas) from DASGost was involved in that - at least he worked on the FFT (?) so if you cant track DAS Gary or Holger might be able to help. Maybe put in a support request to get the ball rolling.

+1

I swear I had the files at some point but can’t find them anywhere now.

What is it even for this plug in?

Can you give me an indication as to filename?

There's also this: https://web.archive.org/web/20190224022 ... osoft.com/

(For some reason I keep a textfile with links like that in my personal archive alongside relevant files.)

You can also search for all saved files for DAS in the web archive with this URL by the way: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www ... soft.com/*

(This works the same for any address of course. Simply replace http://www.digitalaudiosoft.com in the above URL with any other address. Example: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://celmo.com/*)

Using the filter field you can then filter the list to only show files with extensions like .zip, .exe, .dev, .mdl, .pre, .dsp etc. for example (or any other part of the URLs/file names).

Yeah I did try that but it seems that the files in question were hidden in the “user area”.and that whole section is missing from the archive as it would of needed a log in? (But I don’t remember ever creating an account with them and I’m sure I had those files at some point, but I had no use for it so just deleted it I think). I couldn’t find a link anywhere that would download those files.. there are other links scattered about on the archive of the site that download loads of the other files (such as their other free stuff not linked to a activation code of another product)
Maybe I’m missing/not seeing something.

I did not put time into recursing this last list as it had to be hand sorted in the above list (no files from subdirs are present, dirs are inline in the list rather than separated from files, etc)

Could it be Rev 224 lcd… or in the digital audio sound zip..

Does rev mean reverb? Does lcd mean linear crossover device.. 🤷‍♂️

Thing is Convolveq is a dasgost device..

I would have created either a DAS or Ghost folder, if it's been sorted. Don't think I have that in my Scope installation folder (which is now a backup/archive from x32 system) but will look.

Rev 224 LCD is in the DAS_Reverb_Bundle.zip file: DAS D-Verb.dev, REV 224.dev, REV 224 LCD.dev

So yes, reverb.

"Digital Analog Sound.zip" contains a dev/dll/pre of the same name "Digital Analog Sound.dev"

I probably have a few CD's of stuff somewhere. I am fairly good at moving archived data though, so it would take a bit of sorting to see what's in there that I don't have already.

The same goes for the newer files archive. Any recent uploads that work in these forums are random strings of letters, and some portion of those have broken links that are likely unrecoverable. But there are two separate areas on this server where I can look for files, the downside is there are quite a few and they are unsorted all in one folder. The oldest stuff is the least standardized in terms of naming too. In this instance, having the filename is the point of all of that...

...but since I have an eye to making this platform more accessible overall, it probably makes sense to not only continue to restore the broken downloads (where possible) and also curate things manually to identify interesting stuff. Ie, that would be another way to identify stuff like this, if we can't figure out the filename.

Thanks for searching for this. I would imagine that anyone with the ConvolveQ would have downloaded this crossover as well, but ConvolveQ is a very peculiar equalizer so I don't know if many got sold.
I contacted Thomas some time ago and he said Eric created it so DAS had all the files.
Along those lines, I was hoping to get a customized version of G.O.S.T. Harmonic, but Thomas says he no longer has a setup to work on it.
Would be nice to open protected devices in SDK and modify, but sadly there are dishonest people out there that ruin the fun for everyone. At least Scope has a protection scheme that doesn't degrade performance or take up resources in the host computer.
