Cracks and Pops - if you cant beat em, join em.
Cracks and Pops - if you cant beat em, join em.
Depending on their frequency of the pops of course - I get em when Im recording vocals, maybe one or two a minute. I just zoom into the wave , cut a millisecond each side, delete the pop, then cut the syllable to the left of where the pop was a second previously, then stretch it over the minute gap where the pop was.

Using ADAT, I had cracks sometimes after running for a longer time.
After lots of experiments with master/slave configurations, i bought expensive cables and the cracks were gone.
( I suspect the plugs of these cables to be better, a s the signalstrength is rather equal.)
With Z-Link i never had any cracks.
I measured the cracks to be there by recording just the noisefloor for 1 hour an searching the peak value afterwards.
