mp3 player for Xite ?

Post by nebelfuerst »

I often listened to some .mp3 on my scope-pci setup using VLC or winamp . ( using wav-source)
Doing the same with my Xite, the music seems to have minor dropouts.

I already set the buffer size in driversetup to maximum, but no effect.

Is there a way to solve this ? is there a way to feed into asio ? ( I don't want to use the DAW for this.)

Win7/32 is this machine.
I have lots of machines, so I also could try other OS, if there is hope for improvement.

both PCI and XITE suffer random clicks with the wave drivers, this is known. it's possible that the XITE has the problem worse than the PCI cards on your machine, others, not so much...

I use an odd trick.
I load 24 Bit Source Modules twice, then keep the 2nd one.
I use to load one and sometimes wouldn’t hear audio.
Granted that was Scope 5 and Windows 7.
But I maintain the same habits since I hate fixing something that works.
Try it, maybe it might work for you too.

No such thing here. Granted, old Scope OS 5 on 32bit XP. Don't remember such on previous OS versions either. So, for what OS and Scope OS versions would these clickey wave drivers be?

v5 and v7 have that issue, but some computers see it more than others. i have two computers on win10 and use the wave drivers on the one in my office as a tv and the problem is so minor(64bit), that i constantly forget about it.

Is there a mp3 player , that can feed into asio ?
Or is there a wav-layer for asio in windows-side ?

Foobar2000 has ASIO, Winamp has a plug-in as well for ASIO output. I’m sure there are more.

+1 for Foobar. It's fun to customise as well.

I just tried foobar and winamp with asio. Both work perfekt, no glitches so far.
I knew both players for years, but I never had the idea there could be an asio output.
So thanks a lot.
