ASIO 24 bit not listed

Post by bob4u »

SETUP: PULSAR II + DSP expansion - Scope v. 7.0 1706, CAKEWALK last version (previously SONAR), MOTU 828mkII.
Windows 10 64b upgraded.
I always used WAVE Dest/Source, now I wish to use ASIO.
Listing the ASIO Dest available I have only "ASIO Dest" (16b) "ASIO Float Dest" "ASIO2 Dest" "ASIO2 Float Dest",
it seems there are no 24 bit versions.
MOTU ASIO is 24 bit so I need to choose probably the same type for all.
Pls. help!

use the ASIO or ASIO2 source and the matching destination.

if your DAW is 24bit, the ASIO driver will also be 24bit.

You're right ! Setting DAW to 24 bits they appear as 24 bits.
But my DAW doesn't allow to use MOTU ASIO and SC ASIO at the same time... is it normal ?

Thank you for helping me.
I have found old projects of mine having "ASIO 24" and still working, that's why I was confused.
So, knowing that only 1 ASIO device can be used at once in the DAW, this is what I've done, succesfully:
- connected my SCOPE to MOTU 828mkII with two ADAT IN and OUT optical cables
- set my MOTU as "Master" clock
- set my SCOPE as "Slave" selecting ADAT as source sync
- in addition to the correct sync (without clicks & glitches), obviously, when I change clock in MOTU (44.1 48 96) it automatically changes in SCOPE
- in my DAW I choosed MOTU drivers and I see all INs/OUTs including ADAT ones (clock must be set accordingly to MOTU)
- I still can use SCOPE HW analogue OUTs connecting them to MOTU INs
