Huge Project Windows Suck

Post by dawman »

I had a project sent to me for inspection and it opened up as if I was using 2 screens or something.
So I resized and to make sure went to Settings and saved as default and start up.
Then saved again as asked when closing.
No matter what I do I have this giant Project window I have to resize everytime.
Is there a way to get this to save w/o having to do a reinstall?

Try also reducing the background environment window and then save it as anything BUT default.

And/or switch the settings to standard screen mode (or if you're in standard, switch it to classic mode).

Dunno if this will help (Garyb ?) coz Im not in studio, but I notice a bunch of window dimensions in cset.ini in the SPF section. This was in a copy of Scope PCI cset.ini, but I imagine it would be similar for Scope XITE.

Stuff like

SFPDesktop_PosX=1800
SFPDesktop_PosY=249
SFPDesktop_SizeX=1092
SFPDesktop_SizeY=624
SFPDesktop_Maximize=0

Oh yeah, forgot about those!
Editing those should work (backup e cset.ini first)

Coolness.
Greg I knew you used several screens, and I was thinking the guy who sent the project to me did too.
I shall try these as this rig has been on again for 16 hours and needs a breather.

Thanks Mates.

I have the same problem using my laptop and using a second monitor while in the studio, but none during practices. Sometimes device windows are off in virtual second monitor land, nowhere to be found, and not controlable by normal window methods so I can't make them reappear. Greg's trick of toggling to standard/classic mode works for me. But it still sucks. So I started making dual versions of screen sets: Alt+?? for second monitor, Shift+?? for single monitor. Oh well.

I got it.
Tried cset.ini by matching my creens resolutions, didn't work.
Tried Classic/Standard, no good.
Went to the original Examples folder and loaded a project from there,
erased all modules and saved it as start up/default.
Restarted Scope.....voila.
I shall just rebuild the projects.
It's good excercise anyways.

Thanks For The Ideas, as I learned a little by reading the cset.ini stuff.
Also changed a file so now my Flexor Menu works inside of the XITE-1 again.
I never use it, but it's cool to have patches load as intended when learning
Flexor patches/modules.

FWIW, Sharcs' BCM Menu allows dragged modules and is really useful for patch
creation.
