Re: upgrade time...maybe
upgrade has been a success! PCI performance is good, I ran out of DSP with 8 masterverbs on just the Pulsar 2. I have now installed the Powersampler again as well and it seems everything is working flawlessly again. I had problems with this system before and I thought one of the cards might be dying...

99% pure what? This is 99.7 % pure isopropyl. It's especially made for cleaning contacts and lenses exactly because it doesn't leave a film.

Re: MODULAR IV SYNTH
Does anyone still have the old Morpheus 2 patch? I can't find a way to download it on the Z anymore.

Ok so after thorougly cleaning my cards with iospropyl alcohol I seem they seem to be working properly again. The thing is I've always had problems with my current motherboard's (Asus P7P55D-E) layout. Since the second PCI slot is located quite close to the graphics card. At first I was using a smal...
Re: Why w8 ?
I still use W7 on my desktop but put W8 on my laptop and use Stardocks Start8 to bring back to old style start menu (this is certainly clean, I've never had any problems with it). With that and the ability to just start directly into the desktop with 8.1, there really isn't much difference in a usab...

Re: Is possible to add Z-link to a "regular" Pulsar 2?
Thanks for the replies guys :) I haven't had any issues with the Pulsar 2 in the last couple of days. I wonder if overheating has been the problem. It could be but I don't recall having this kind of issue before so it would be weird that suddenly it would have overheated for no apparent reason. The ...

Re: Is possible to add Z-link to a "regular" Pulsar 2?
Thanks I might be interested. But right now I'm experiencing troubles with my Pulsar 2 as well :/ Twice now in the last two days there is suddenly an incredibly loud and continuous burst of noise and I have to reset Scope in order to have it stop (either restart the Scope application or reselect the...

Re: Scope II plus two scope one for sale
I don't think there was ever such a thing as a "Scope I" (it was just "Scope" wasn't it?) so I'm sure he means Pulsar 1

Re: Is possible to add Z-link to a "regular" Pulsar 2?
ah never knew you could actually switch out the I/O on the card itself. Scope is even more modular than I thought ;) I guess though that those plates are not generally found seperately... So maybe I should start looking for a Pulsar 2 with that I/O plate and switch them around. Or buy an A16 and run...

Is possible to add Z-link to a "regular" Pulsar 2?
My Powersampler card seems to be causing issues with my setup. I've taken it out and just kept the Pulsar 2 in my system and now some problems that I was having are gone. Fine because I don't really need the DSP so much as I'm doing mostly native now, but I need the I/O I got from the Luna breakout ...

Re: Ableton Live 32-bit with Scope 5.1 64-bit
You can still run Ableton in 32 bit on a 64 bit system. According the Ableton themselves, it's actually recommended to run the 32 bit application UNLESS you really need the extra memory provided by the 64 bits for huge sample-library stuff.

Finally something new :) Sputnikk - Switchblade (tech-house)
http://soundcloud.com/sputnikk/switchblade So I've been busy buying and renovating a new house so have not had time for music for a while. Now I took a month long mini sabbatical to work on music amongst other things (I can recommend this to everyone :)). So the goal was to finish two tracks in this...

Re: So... time for another upgrade :)
Possibly there might be tweaks to squeeze (even) better performance out of it, but really the Masterverb test is just a stresstest and I don't see myself using that many verbs in one project in practice, so performance should be more than enough for my needs as it is. I would like to see whether thi...

Re: So... time for another upgrade :)
Ok, system is up and running with Scope 5.1 64bit. Seems to be doing fine so far. I could get up to 9 masterverbs with some dsp reloading, but it wouldn't go to 10. It actually crashed with a blue screen of death "irq not less or equal blablabla" several seconds after trying that ;) Perhap...

Re: So... time for another upgrade :)
thanks for the info. I don't use the scope samplers so that shouldn't be a problem.
I've heard about problems with sandforce controllers, but the Crucial uses a Marvell controller and seems to be the recommended choice right now in terms of price/GB and reliability.

Hey man, your 2 cents are always welcome here In any case it's good to be aware of any potential 64 bit pitfalls before I upgrade.

Re: So... time for another upgrade :)
Hmm yeah I don't really need the 64 bits for music, but the plan is to have system doubling as graphics workstation as well and some of the latest Adobe apps need 64 bits to run. And with Scope now supporting 64 bits as well I thought it might be the right time to take the plunge.

So... time for another upgrade :)
It's time again to upgrade my PC, and here's what I'm gonna do: I currently have 3 cards (Pulsar 1, Pulsar 2 and Powersampler) running on a Core 2 Duo system which I'm planning to upgrade to a quad core i5. socket 1156 motherboards have been rapidly going out of stores here but I've managed to find ...
