Re: Mixbus
I guess we won't know what's up with this until we find definitively what is causing it... Our guesses are probably accurate, but Portaudio works fine with more than just plain-ole Windows soundcards (which often don't have an ASIO driver anyway) - it's not a consumer-grade toy library - so ... In t...

Re: Mixbus
I agree, it shouldn't try to configure, and maybe that is what its attempting to do... Whether or which, whatever is going on here, portaudio shouldn't be doing "it", and the Scope ASIO driver shouldn't be responding to "it" in that way... It can be argued both directions - a lib...

Re: Mixbus
Pfff ! This is too much for me ! I'll try it when it will work correctly ! I thought asio is a standard, so any asio software behaves the same with its environment. Yes, it is a workaround, that's all. But luckily, it is not so painful, if you can live without Scope ASIO on your system. (I notice j...

Re: Room EQ Wizard (REW) and Scope ASIO not getting along...
For those that have issues with some software that won't start if Scope ASIO is available ...
I posted a workaround for this, that means Scope ASIO is not available... Which is obviously not the ideal scenario for many.....

Re: Mixbus
Atom : Mixbus hangs on my Scope DAW (XITE-1D, Win8 x64) when I select Scope ASIO. From what I make of Eanna's discussion below this is an issue between portaudio and Scope ASIO - but he was going to check that against all Scope ASIO variants (ASIO, ASIO 2 etc I guess) and fiddle with registry to tr...

Re: Mixbus
Hi, tried out the Mixbus 3 product... The only way I could start it, is to remove the "SCOPE ASIO" device from the list of available ASIO devices on my machine, by Exporting the key to the filesystem (so I could add back again), and then Deleting the registry key for Scope ASIO, under HKLM...

Re: Wanted : Your Experiences With Analog Tape
Ha! When I saw that pic, I thought - my, that's a wide cassette!
While some kids have attempted to put iPhones into cassette decks on older cars (http://boingboing.net/2015/09/03/car-ca ... n-for.html) - if you handed this iPhone to me Dante, I'd probably have done the same myself

Let's not forget Kensuguro's wonderful VHS emulation modular patch! http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26172 And Voidar's device wrapping of Ken's patch: http://forums.planetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=26202 There's even a MaxForLive patch emulating a cassette... http://www.maxfor...

Re: Wanted : Your Experiences With Analog Tape
Ah cassettes... They may have been cheap and cheerful, but for many of us, our memories of early music purchases are framed in a little folding box that held a cassette. That, and I'll wager the majority of this community's earliest recordings were to a cassette - be that on a simple ghettoblaster, ...

Re: Portaudio ASIO apps - Melodyne, Harrison Mixbus, Bitwig,
Nice one Ronnie. And thanks for confirming Mixbus issues Dante. Found this too: http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?com=thread&start=485642&groupid=3&&guest=1 More evidence... Yeah been thinking about it since - Portaudio bridges apps with all common driver types ...

Re: Portaudio ASIO apps - Melodyne, Harrison Mixbus, Bitwig,
Haha - thank you (again) ronnie! I weighed in at the end of that very thread myself - I forgot how widespread this problem was in the Scope Community! And I always blamed myself :-O I have just downloaded the portaudio source there, and installed Microsoft Visual Studio. Thanks for finding that post...

Portaudio ASIO apps - Melodyne, Harrison Mixbus, Bitwig, Max
Hi, There is something awry with my Scope installation I believe... The symptom is that I cannot start any application that depends on the Portaudio library, for interfacing general applications with ASIO streams. Such apps as those listed in the title of this thread... Ableton, Reaper, and some oth...

Re: Scope and Firewire
Thanks Gary.
I think Plogue Bidule potentially could link the Motu and Scope ASIO streams ITB.
But no, I would be using the Motu and Scope as separate systems.
So I shouldn't 'fear the firewire' then...? Shouldn't have 'misgivings for the motu'...?
Anyone with concrete experience, feel free...

Re: Scope and Firewire
I have some Eurorack modular gear, and the Motu is one of the few interfaces that is DC-coupled, so I can send CV to my modular gear from stuff like Silent Way and the many other similar software solutions for interfacing to Modular gear. It's not necessarily lower-quality either. I can use it not j...

Scope and Firewire
Hi, So, before I got Scope, on an older PC, I had no end of struggles squashing problems with firewire interfaces on my PC. DPC Latencies (to the microsecond) are tough to control! And, that was -before- I had Scope, which is not tolerant of, as garyb calls them, "chatty" hardware protocol...
