Well in my article here :

http://www.hitfoundry.com/issue_04/cub_xtc.htm

I just ignored those messages and the devices seemed to work anyway. Something to do with if you had an older version of Scope I think.

Re: STS5000 noob questions...

I'm installing Kontakt 4 as I write this. Its just that the STS range hasn't really been developed in the last few years, whereas Native sampling (from Gigastudio onwards) has gone ahead in leaps and bounds in terms of library content, streaming, polyphony etc.

Re: Melody writing for vocals

You can attend songwriting courses and learn certain rules. And you can target your writing to artists, thier range, musical style, whats happening in thier lives etc. But in the end, the way the vocalist sings a well written song is thier contribution more than the writers. If the writer could dict...

Re: Melody writing for vocals

Most top song writers would take the target vocalist's style into account. With VariAudio even out of tune vocalist can produce a reasonable guide vocal, but then Id still be prepared to give Vocaloid a go. It would be enough for example to give the real vocalist the pitching and timing. Or even to ...

Re: Melody writing for vocals

A tune written by someone who actually sings as a vocalist and one thats not is several orders of magnitude in difference. A lot of hit songs are written for artists by specialised song writers who dont perform, if you need a vocalist you could always try vocaloid, good for writing and producing wi...

Re: SCOPE PCI v5.1 & notation software (Finale & Sibelius)

Nah only 5.0 in 32 bit XP. Maybe S|C dropped the IO Enabler for 5.1 64 bit ..?

Did you try running the legacy one in 32 bit compatibiity mode or whateva ?

Anyone else know whats happened to the IO enabler in Scope 5.1 ?

Courtesy of 'ChampionSound'

Start menu -> Scope Platform -> IO enabler
And set the desired amount of ASIO inputs, outputs and midi ports. Then restart scope, put some ASIO source (and dest) modules in the project and start cubase

Re: SCOPE PCI v5.1 & notation software (Finale & Sibelius)

Maybe you could use the Scope I/O Enabler instead of DEvice Manager + Reboots.

Would this take the reboots out of the picture ?

This is a Kontakt library, hes using footpedals, pitch wheels and a second keyboard to switch orchestral sections in/out. Pretty cool.

Edit: just checked reapers website... First two bullet points: all new midi! New automation! Sounds promising. This is what I heard bout upcoming Reaper 4 : ASIO efficient, multi core support, does a lot automatically where you have to make several mouseclicks in Cubendo. Runs from a USB stick incl...

Ken have you tried Reaper ? I keep getting an earfull about how good it is (from other than Jimmy as well...:). Im not about to try it myself but I would if I was starting from scratch. But the discussion using fruity (89 EUR) for a serious symphonic production is a waste one (imho), or do you expec...
